I added Matt Walsh back in today at Kenan Thompson’s expense because I figure that voters favour Veep to Saturday Night Live.

I have seen too much Twitter buzz from industry types in recent years for Catastrophe, Fleabag and The Leftovers to consider a Fleabag breakout now with Barry, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Veep so rock solid at the top.

But Waller-Bridge has also gained immense name recognition from Killing Eve. More people are aware of her, and more people have caught up with Fleabag’s first season in the last couple of years. I feel like she is getting in for Lead Actress.

I am so confused about her. I feel like she is getting nominated again, but I don’t want to predict her ugh.

Is this based on popularity or actual submission for Matt Walsh or both? I do not recall Matt Walsh doing a lot this season

Fleabag is at the very least getting a Writing nomination. If it is for episode 1  then it might even end up winning the category.

Matin Hinkle not getting a nom would be a tragedy. A litteral TRAGEDY.

Kenan Thompson is the consistent MVP of SNL

    That sucks for SNL.

Kind of feel guilty for saying it because he seems like a good dude and people he works with seem to like him. But Keenan Thompson is a kind of a funny that doesn’t ever make me laugh. Passive amusement at best.

Exactly. I meant to write this earlier but forgot to.

    Sarah Goldberg too!

I just figure that there are going to be more people voting the Veep ticket this year than the SNL ticket. He does not deserve a nomination.

That’s a bare minimum. It realistically could score another supporting actress nom, another directing nom and one or two guest actor.

I honestly won’t be at all surprised if Kominsky misses. You can’t really say Chuck Lorre is an Emmy darling, his noms are all for producing TBBT and T&aHM. Obviously he’s a huge name and has made numerous comedies throughout the years but once again this new comedy of his doesn’t feel like a series contender to me. I dont think Fleabag will get in either, but I think it could get in other categories. Personally I was surprised by PWB’s nom last year for Killing Eve. The show was very new and voters needed some time to catch up. I think that nom was a scent of support if you will after voters caught up with Fleabag S1. So I personally expect to see Fleabag snatch some major categories noms this time around. Yet at the same time I’m predicting UKS to get in for its buzz-less final season lol.
