According to The Playlist, ““Killing Eve” and “Bodyguard” were not eligible as they are non-WGA productions.”

    Mine would be:

Obviously this lady (Jodie Comer, Killing Eve (in case anyone still didn’t know))

    Richard Madden, Bodyguard

Keeley Hawes, Bodyguard (c0uldn’t find a gif of her from Bodyguard but only found one from Ashes to Ashes which is a fantastic British programme you should see, in my opinion, better than Bodyguard)

Jodie Whittaker, Doctor Who (criminally under-awarded this season)

    Fiona Shaw, Killing Eve

Ruth Wilson, The Affair (how on Earth can she not have 7 Emmys for her work on all the seasons of The Affair and Luther she’s appeared in. One of the most underrated television actresses of our era)

FYC Emmys 2019 : Phoebe Waller–Bridge ("Fleabag") for Best Actress in a Comedy Series, Sandra Oh ("Killing Eve") for Best Actress in a Drama Series, Bradley Walsh ("Doctor Who") for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, Keeley Hawes ("Bodyguard") for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, "Maniac", "A Very English Scandal" and "Killing Eve" in all eligible categories.

Hawes is good on Bodyguard, but she’s not a lead and she really would be an undeserving nominee in lead. She’s not even the best supporting actor from the show either (that would be Anjli Mohindra, who was absolutely brilliant in the first episode).

I know that but to be fair Mohindra’s portrayal would not be nominated due to the Islamophobia controversy. Hawes deserves a nomination in Supporting not only because of her work in Bodyguard but the fact that she is an Outstanding Actress repetitively overlooked by both the Television Academy and the British Television Academy (who are yet to award her after 4 nominations whilst Olivia Colman has 4 BAFTAs).

We can take a pretty good guess about the quality of the upcoming Game of Thrones season based on the seven that we have seen. Killing Eve was acclaimed by critics for the two episodes that they received in advance, but what about the rest of the season? It could go awry.

Yes but they will submitted the first episode of Killing Eve for writing, so it really doesn’t matter if the other episodes go downhill.

I haven’t watched Succession, and I’m not remotely interested in doing so, so can someone tell me which Succession supporting actor is the best? I just want to justify Kieran Culkin being so high; is it because of his Globe nom? Cause Globes ain’t industry, and Culkin could easily be e.g. the Corey Stoll (House of Cards) of this show. He didn’t receive nonetheless a CC nom (like Stoll), while his co-star Matthew Macfayden did. So there doesn’t seem to be outside of the industry a consensus on which one is better or best (not excluding anyone else who hasn’t received noms so far in the awards season).

Killing Eve isn’t winning writing especially if Game of Thrones only submits one episode.

None of them have the material tbh, especially Culkin. He doesn’t have any standout acting moment in the show. He’s fine and plays my favorite character but I can’t think of a single episode or a scene which I can say is Emmy-worthy. He didn’t have any meaty material, no depth or emotion. He’s literally the same in every episode.

Macfayden was slightly better but still not nomination- worthy. None of the cast deserves nominatons for season 1 with the exception of Brian Cox and Jeremy Strong, in my opinion. They worked well as an ensemble though.

You should watch Succession, it’s pretty good.
