    No VFX mention for The Good Place? Wow. Stunts, yes, for the brawl near the end of Don’t Let the Good Life Pass You By.

    People really think these two should be nominated next to each other?

    Stunt coordination and visual effects are among the fields that use panels in the nomination process. The submissions listed above are not the only ones that entered for consideration; these are the ones that made it past the panel that watched specified clips from all of the submissions. It now goes to a popular vote of the branch. So The Good Place got stunts and missed effects on merit.

    Nice of you to post visual effects from the show’s FIRST SEASON. What season of TGP are we up to?

    It’s literally what the visual effects still look like. The point still stands if the visuals have not changed and remain the stuff of kids’ dreams.

    The Good Place doesn’t deserve a VFX nom but I would argue that it deserves, at least, series, writing, lead actor and supporting actress. While she is not in my top 6, I wouldn’t riot if Kristen Bell were to get a nom as well.

    Outstanding Main Title Design

    The Good Fight

    Going to so disappointed if this misses again in this category specifically.

    The opening credits are essentially an advert for HD TV.

    Are the Emmy ballots going to be visible for everyone to see this year? If so, when will they be available to view?

    Remember that some categories don’t have online ballots, including:
    * Voiceover (both character & narrator)
    * Choreography (and remember there are two categories this year – scripted progams, and variety/reality, although the scripted category appears to be a juried award with no actual nominations)
    * Music & Lyrics (i.e. Original Song – and if I am reading the rules right, the other music categories do have online ballots this year)
    * Individual Achievement in Animation
    * Innovation in Interactive Media
    * Motion Design
    * Exceptional Merit in Documentary Filmmaking

    Several performers have been disqualified from voting for the upcoming Emmys. Reason: block voting:

    Too bad punitive action wasn’t taken when Mrs. Maisel rode bloc voting to its 8 Emmys last year.
