Don’t forget that we’ll also have Apple’s new streaming service and their 2 big shows for it (The Morning Show and Are You Sleeping). I think both of them can get in if they’re as good as I expect them to be, though I’m way more confident in The Morning Show. Here’s what I’m predicting for next year (obviously there’s no real basis for any of this since none of these seasons have aired). Drama Series

    1. Big Little Lies (Season 2)
    2. The Crown (Season 3)
    3. Better Call Saul (Season 5)
    4. The Morning Show (Season 1)
    5. Ozark (Season 3)
    6. Are You Sleeping (Season 1)
    7. The Handmaid’s Tale (Season 3)

    Drama Actress

    1. Nicole Kidman (Big Little Lies)
    2. Olivia Colman (The Crown)
    3. Jennifer Aniston (The Morning Show)
    4. Octavia Spencer (Are You Sleeping)
    5. Reese Witherspoon (Big Little Lies)
    6. Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale)
    7. Laura Linney (Ozark)

    Drama Actor

    1. Steve Carell (The Morning Show)
    2. Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul)
    3. Jason Bateman (Ozark)
    4. Richard Madden (Bodyguard)
    5. Sterling K. Brown (This Is Us)
    6. Tobias Menzies (The Crown)
    7. Milo Ventimiglia (This Is Us)

    Drama Supporting Actress

    1. Meryl Streep (Big Little Lies)
    2. Helena Bonham Carter (The Crown)
    3. Lizzy Caplan (Are You Sleeping)
    4. Reese Witherspoon (The Morning Show)
    5. Julia Garner (Ozark)
    6. Laura Dern (Big Little Lies)
    7. Thandie Newton (Westworld)

    Drama Supporting Actor

    1. Jonathan Banks (Better Call Saul)
    2. Aaron Paul (Are You Sleeping)
    3. Josh O’Connor (The Crown)
    4. Mandy Patinkin (Homeland)
    5. David Harbour (Stranger Things 3)
    6. Ron Cephas Jones (Are You Sleeping)
    7. Billy Crudup (The Morning Show)

For 2020, seeming Bodyguard isn’t eligible, I’d bet on these being what we could see after the barren field this year (also think Homecoming is going to either not premiere on time for 2020 or have so much buzz).

    BEST DRAMA SERIES

    1. Big Little Lies (Season 2, HBO)

    5. Homeland (Season 8, Showtime)

Filming starts next month and ends in August. Season 4 filmed from January to May and premiered in August. Winter premiere is possible, but I hope they wait for spring, increasing their Emmy chances.

Something I wondered about, after Game of Thrones, what show gets the most nominations? (Assuming GoT gets somewhere between 18 to 25)

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel might get nineteen, but my guess is seventeen.

Was thinking about just dramas, had completely forgot Mrs Maisel (& The comedies in general). Yeah, no way Maisel & Veep get less than 15 nominations each.

Going back to drama, after Thrones the only mother drama right now I think that might even go into double digit nominations would be Pose & Ozark (even then think both won’t get higher than 12)

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel will get seventeen nominations (in one year) before Kristen Bell gets one.

This year is completely unpredictable, it seems weak just because the new shows have not been widely seen by anyone. This will help Better Call Saul, Ozark and This is us, the three of them are going to over-perform since they are as popular as Game of Thrones in comparison to everything else in the drama categories this year. We are going to see huge discrepancies between the branches.

And the snub of Mandy Moore last year was not as huge as many of you are trying to suggest, she lose her nominations versus 4 incredible performances (Moss, Foy, Maslany and Russell) that all of us here agreed that would be a deserved winners and that were far superior than her, then we had Evan Rachel Wood that was as good as her, a previous nominee for that role and also from drama nominee and a bigger show, and then Sandra Oh, a 5 times previous nominee from a critical darling that beat her with a small number of votes, I think that Moore was the seventh nominee, she is going to make it this year, she has been constantly good and some of the best things in season 3 alongside Susan Kelechi Watson.

I still has not seen Escape of Dannemora, i don’t have the stomach to watch anything with Patricia Arquette in it.

Stay pressed. She’s winning TCA I call it now.

I hadn’t even thought about TCA yet but yes she must be the frontrunner.

I see Ozark and randomly Better Call Saul getting into the low double digits.  I do not see big things for Pose.  I forgot that The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel missed makeup last year, so there is a surefire nomination to add to its totals that I cited above. Would anyone support a score nomination?

Sandra Oh’s hosting SNL this week, do you think you she can be double nominated for Drama Lead Actress and Comedy Guest Actress?

FYC Emmys 2019 ‘Killing Eve for Series, Jodie Comer, Sandra Oh and Fiona Shaw’ ‘Jim Parsons for The Big Bang Theory’
