So, The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann should be a lock in Documentary or Non Fiction Series or are there any other worthy contender?

FYC: Drama Series: Game of Thrones, Succession, Bodyguard. Drama Lead Actress: Emilia Clarke, Drama Lead Actor: Richard Madden, Jeremy Strong. Limited Series: Chernobyl

Netflix will have at least three nomination slots between it, Making a Murderer and Our Planet.

    I should’ve mentioned it’s preliminary.

The Twilight Zone surprised me with 72.

Sandra Oh’s hosting SNL this week, do you think you she can be double nominated for Drama Lead Actress and Comedy Guest Actress?

If her work on SNL is anything like her GG hosting chop, she won’t come near a nomination, I promise you that.

Gina Rodriguez DELIVERED last night on Jane the Virgin with a SEVEN-MINUTE monologue that was one of the most impressive things I’ve seen all season, and I know that there is no way in HELL that she is getting nominated, but I am going to put her in my predictions just for like the next week just because I can, and no one (least of all logic or reason) is going to stop me. But then after that week, I’ll snap back to reality, I promise.

If that was like 3 years ago I would have done the same thing, but Rodriguez has been getting pretty bad press for her passive agressive hatred towards black women.

Why are people so confident in Bobby Cannavale? I mean he’s been doing the most lately — being on multiple shows and he couldn’t even get in with the baitiest of material. I LOVED Homecoming, but in no way would he be deserving. He was like 5th best and it’s a shame that the true standouts — James & Whigham — will likely be ignored by the Emmys.

I also think people are underestimating The Other Two. The Writing branch will likely nominate it (Chris Kelly is a former Emmy nominee for Writing) and they love Pilots. Drew Tarver is on the bubble — his category is weak as hell. Molly Shannon could get in because Supporting Actor has like 7-8 noms lately.

I’m hoping Wanda Sykes goes Supporting because it would be a shame to see her cancel herself with Black-ish.

I 100% agree on Cannavale, he was so bland. I still have him in though because supporting actor is so damn empty that I wouldn’t even know who to put there in his place. I even have Peter Mullan in my lineup for Ozark lmao.

Homecoming is the first Series contender Cannavale has been in since Boardwalk Empire. That’s what will probably make this different.

Master of None, Mr. Robot, Vinyl, Will & Grace…

If Supporting Actor is so empty, why do people not have Justin Hartley in? He was highly likely 7th place last year with all of the buzz surrounding his performance. Only two of last years nominees are returning plus previous nominees Jonathan Banks and Michael Kelly. That’s likely 4 spots taken.

His show won SAG Ensemble for the second year in a row and got into Producers Guild for the first time. People have been saying This Is Us is likely to receive an uptick in nominations this year, but where if not here?  Why are people more confident in Susan Kelechi Watson getting a nomination before Hartley or more than Metz, a previous nominee? She’s good but hasn’t received the buzz Hartley and Moore had last year.

Hartley is still excellent and managed to get in at the Critics Choice this year (I don’t know if that means anything) but I mean… can’t an argument be made for him to get in over Bobby Cannavale, who hasn’t gotten in anything for Homecoming, at the very least?

I really hate to say this because I adore Hartley and consider him extremely deserving, but I fear that there are people out there who don’t take him seriously as an actor. He’s the pretty boy who may be suffering from the slap-the-stud factor. If he couldn’t get in for 2×08, I doubt he ever will, even with the lack of competition this year. The same situation with Moore, who some people still consider a pop star.

Which shows will get nominated for music supervision this year you think? Past returning nominees are Better Call Saul, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and This Is Us. Other than them, I think Sharp Objects is a safe bet.

I hope Russian Doll makes it. I’m surprised Insecure wasn’t nominated last year, maybe it will happen this time.
