I haven’t watched Pose yet but I feel like the packaging is just begging me to predict it lol.

Oh my, I knew they went extra with the mailers, but I didn’t realize extra enough to basically put tablets in them lol. The movie studios need to pick up their game.

Pose is included in AFI’s top ten list, so it is guaranteed to snag at least one major nomination.

I’ve had Pose and Billy Porter from the very start. The Emmys tend to respond well to early seasons of Ryan Murphy’s stuff, and FX only has Pose and Better Things to campaign this year (I think?). Billy was very visible during the awards season, and he is easily the standout so I actually feel more confident about him than I do about series.

These are the programs which have scored at least 3 nominations in a single category in the past five years (besides guest acting categories): The Handmaid’s Tale, Saturday Night Live, Game of Thrones, American Horror Story, American Crime Story, Veep, The Normal Heart

I highly doubt that Catch-22 will score three nominations in supporting actor.

I’m so excited for this movie. The cinematography and production design from this teaser alone is enough for me to assume it’ll get some crucial nominations.

HBO will never have more Emmy nominations than it will in 2019

I’m convinced by your argument but what/who misses if Pose/Porter get in?

Harington can miss for Porter. He missed last year despite the field arguably being weaker than it is this year and he missed in 2015 despite giving a great performance in Season 5. I’m not convinced that Pose will break into Series, but there’s definitely room for it to (Homecoming, Bodyguard, and Succession are not strong contenders for the last 2 slots, and even Killing Eve could flop out of the race).

If Porter went supporting, I would definitely predict him. But lead? I’m just not sure; Game of Thrones‘ power is too strong to allow him to get in over Harington. However, since the acting branch aren’t sheep (apart from name-checking past nominees & their “friends” aka Jason Bateman despite giving nothing performances), Harington could still miss if he doesn’t have anything to do really in this final season regardless of how big it is, proved by last year.
