I disputed your confidence in the show’s nominations and you’re saying I hate the show. What’s more to discuss here.
Previously you have mentioned that there is almost a certainty that Killing Eve was going to dramatically drop in standards with Fennell as show runner and even recently mentioned your underestimations of this season. You have mentioned this various times on threads of the 2019 Emmys and on the Killing Eve thread. What’s more to continue heh? Or exaggerate as you say?April 15, 2019 at 11:09 am #1202854152
I actually accidentally closed this when about to publish it but due to confusion and accusations that I hate GoT and that I am over exaggerating Killing Eve, here are my current predictions of who will win.
DRAMA SERIES : Game of Thrones
ACTRESS : Sandra Oh, Killing Eve
ACTOR : Richard Madden, Bodyguard
S. ACTRESS : Lena Headey, Game of Thrones (Julia Garner, Ozark or Fiona Shaw, Killing Eve if there are 3 GoT actresses in this category)
S. ACTOR : Peter Dinklage, Game of Thrones
WRITING : Killing Eve
DIRECTING : Game of Thrones
GUEST ACTRESS : Cherry Jones (THT) or Jessica Lange (AHS : Apocalypse)
GUEST ACTOR : Jeremy Allen White (Homecoming) or Ron Cephas Jones (This is Us)April 15, 2019 at 11:23 am #1202854179
I mean it’s not like that has never happened before on other television series. You can’t just assume a plot point in something like Killing Eve, GoT or Bodyguard that just because they are billed as series regulars that they will be in all the remaining episodes of the season. It’s senseless.
Not all—I said that he would have to be in only one of the last five to be guest-eligible. Anyway, excuse me while I slot Jodie Comer into my guest predictions. After all, you never know!April 15, 2019 at 11:26 am #1202854184
If we are saying Turner is safe for a nomination, then Garner is winning (or Shaw if she gets nominated). There will be too great a GoT vote split for Heady to win.
Shaw winning would be an actual joke lmao. If vote splitting were to occur which I don’t think it would if Headey is the clear standout, then Garner would be a great winner. She’s miles better on Ozark than Shaw on Killing Eve.April 15, 2019 at 11:29 am #1202854197
Why do you think Shaw can win?April 15, 2019 at 11:42 am #1202854225

Changing a showrunner in a show heavily influenced by its creator was a red flag. Even more, it’s a show with a contained story. Of course I didn’t expect it to be a masterpiece and went with low expectations. The day after the premiere I said that I underestimated the new showrunner. Yet, you think I hate the show.April 15, 2019 at 12:21 pm #1202854323
Why do you think Shaw can win?
I don’t think she will win. I think that there is a possibility that regarding previous history, Seehorn and Kelechi Watson will not get in (in the latter’s case because of a chance voters are not watching their show). I think if there are three GoT actresses vying for the Supporting Actress throne this season, there will be a vote split (as we saw last year with THT) and this would lead to a possible win for the other candidates, who at the moment I am currently predicting as Shaw and Garner. Whomever wins out of them would depend on the reception to their shows and their performances by voters.
I am currently predicting Headey to win and Turner to miss, I am hoping Headey wins. Hopefully, I am not the king of wishful thinking. But if there are three GoT actresses in the run, the only acting statuette GoT takes is by Dinklage.April 15, 2019 at 5:35 pm #1202854673
Exactly. Maisie has been overlooked for long enough, and though Lena is admittedly great, she’s been outperformed by Maisie in at least 3 seasons (1, 2, and 4) and is going to be in this one too.
Well, that’s reaching. I really like Maisie but… definitely delirious. Refresh your memory with this Lenagendaries scenes from the seasons you mentioned (Maisie is a good actress, but she’s not even close to these acting masterclasses):

I mean… rewatch Blackwater
Lena Headey hasn't got an Emmy for Game of Thrones????? Emmys you need to win her right now!!April 15, 2019 at 7:29 pm #1202854815
Random spot to post this but does anyone know if there was forum thread for The OA season 1 and/or 2? I can’t seem to find it.
(Just binged the series and loved it!)April 15, 2019 at 7:32 pm #1202854820

I haven’t seen the finale yet, but I’ve practically finished Ozark S2 now. The problem with this show is that the episodes are sooooo long, which doesn’t give the actors good tapes (not that they matter), but so far I’m guessing:
- Laura Linney: Episode 2.07 “One Way Our” (my personal second least favorite episode of the series, but she has a lot to do) or 2.09 “The Badger”
- Julia Garner: Episode 2.02 “The Precious Blood of Jesus,” 2.05 “Game Day,” or 2.09 “The Badger”
- Jason Bateman: he doesn’t wow me in a single episode, but at the same time he could practically submit anything.
- Peter Mullan: 2.09 “The Badger” (not because he’s good in it, but it starts and ends with his character)
- Janet McTeer: 2.05 “Game Day” (she’s probably not getting nominated, but if she is, then this is undoubtedly her submission)
I don’t see anyone else standing a chance from the show tbh.
Jason Bateman will probably undeservedly be nominated for directing 2.01 – I say undeservedly because there were much, much better episodes in the season. Overall, I didn’t even dislike the season, I fairly enjoyed it. 2.07 was downright terrible and annoying, but otherwise it was ok. Curious to see the finale, this post might change then. Maybe Bateman finally has a knockout submission.
