Definitely keep an eye out for Game of Thrones as the season progresses. Could end up with a few contenders for nominations.

I watch “This Is Us” every week and deadass could not even say if Ron Cephas Jones has been in a single episode this season. Unless he makes a splashy appearance here at the end of the season, he does not need to return in place of a more deserving nominee, even ones from their own show like Michael Angarano, Griffin Dunne and Carl Lumbly.

I kind of see John Mulaney getting the Guest Actor in a Comedy win this year. He has the buzziest episode of the season and a huge career year right now, and he even has that semi-surprise writing win last year, so voters know him and love him.

What are the prospects of Chloe Sevigny getting in for Russian Doll?

God, I hate all these SNL performances in guest categories… I know it was said like 1000 times, but bring back Variety Performance category, I beg you Emmys.

Ron Cephas Jones featured extensively in the second episode, A Philadelphia Story, in which his character made friends with a Nigerian woman, Chichi.

I’ve hated SNL in the comedy series categories for years, and I’m surprised no one really cares about this! SNL does not fit in with comedy series, and the winners (especially in guest) are taking away from other guest stars in comedies who are actually deserving.

Tiffany Haddish had no business winning last year for Guest Actress for SNL. That Emmy should have gone to Molly Shannon with Jane Lynch being second.

Tiffany Haddish became a fad and now all she does is commercials I agree with Jane Lynch winning.

I really hope Maya Rudolph wins Guest actress Comedy. She is so funny and so long overdue for recognition.

Maya Rudolph should have been nominated and won in 2017 for her guest appearance on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt as Dionne Warwick.

Something that I did last year with these guest categories was look at the ballot when it came out, because that’s where voters will of course check of their nominees. Some actors had THE worst episode description: for the TIU actors, NBC decided to just submit the normal synopsis of the episode, without even mentioning some of the guest actors’ characters; Westworld completely screwed over Peter Mullan with that 4-word description. Both Viola Davis and Cicely Tyson, however, had a in-depth description of their character arc in the episode. That + their names probably tipped them over the edge.

I may be overanalyzing this, but don’t we all?

And they screwed up Kikuchi’s description too if I remember correctly.
