What does Emmy history have to do with you considering something a worthy nominee?

I was literally replying to your point about the show’s lack of nominations in the past 2 years. I should’ve said “its Emmy history”

I am really excited to see what happens in comedy supporting actress, because I think Marin Hinkle is definitely getting in for Maisel, which will only hurt Alex Borstein’s chances of repeating. With McKinnon having lost steam (and Jones splitting votes), I think Betty Gilpin might actually pull this off, which will be so amazing. She just has to get that nomination.

    Predix for nominations:
    1. Alex Borstein – The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
    2. Anna Chlumsky – Veep
    3. Kate McKinnon – Saturday Night Live
    4. Marin Hinkle – The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
    5. Leslie Jones – Saturday Night Live
    6. Betty Gilpin – GLOW

I am also excited about supporting actor because without the overdue narrative helping him anymore, Henry Winkler’s chances of repeating aren’t that high. And it seems like the new system is actually not as high on repeat winners as the tape system was, which is always a plus as far as I’m concerned.

Alan Arkin or Tony Shalhoub feel like the most likely winners, especially with Veep guys certain to split the vote. But I am just hoping and praying that Titus somehow pulls this off. Maybe a final season bump and overdue narrative will help him FINALLY win that damn Emmy. But just like Gilpin, he needs to get that nomination first. It’s funny that I might actually end up predicting the two people to take the supporting categories that I have ranked in 6th place for nominations.

    Predix for nominations:
    1. Henry Winkler – Barry
    2. Tony Shalhoub – The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
    3. Tony Hale – Veep
    4. Alan Arkin – The Kominsky Method
    5. Matt Walsh – Veep
    6. Titus Burgess – Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

Phoebe Waller Bridge is stepping down from head writer, but she will probably write an episode or 2

Sarah Paulson was just playing Lana Winters again in Cult. Even herself didn’t like playing that character. And the whole season was pure trash.

That is completely untrue, some people just repeat the same nonsense over and over again, like “she was just crying and yelling”, well she DID NOT, that was just in the first two episodes, and even then, this is a very difficult thing to do since she was doing it as a person full of phobias. After that her character COMPLETELY changed. I do not see a single similarity with Asylum. Lana will be her best AHS character, this was a role of a life time and became what she is now entirely due to that role, something that she has acknowledge herself. Also, she publicly defended her Emmy nomination for Cult, so she did enjoy it and was proud of it.

I have noticed in this thread that many people are dismissing Netflix in the limited series category. The reason why many people are predicting Ozark to break into series race is its obvious overperformance with the guilds, and it was probably ranked the eight at the last year’s lineup. It’s not that the show is a critical darling or an audience hit. This is literally the same case with Maniac, not to mention the names in front and behind the camera which will certainly attract voters. Surely it’s not a winning show, but still Netflix will campaign it. Then, there’s The Haunting of Hill House which competed as drama series prior to the Emmy race. We know that many people watched and liked it, it has also appeared on many critics’ ‘best of the year’ list. I am certain that it will snag some major Emmy nominations. Netflix has reached the point of being the key player at the Emmys, and they are certainly not skipping the limited series category with these two shows.

I wish Sex Education got in Casting. Its casting is brilliant.

By the way, who will take the last spot for comedy casting? The Good PlaceThe Kominsky Method? I really hope it’s not the latter.

The Kominsky Method is an easy call for me. The Good Place could not even get a nomination from the Casting Society in the returning-comedy category over Better Things, Dear White People, Grace and Frankie and Insecure. It also has never gotten a Directors Guild nomination, it is an aging show and the Emmys never nominated the casting of black-ish or Parks and Recreation.

She indeed was very proud and happy and she stated that many times. She didn’t expect to get nominated for Cult mainly because of her snub the previous year for AHS Roanoke and she also publicly declared the snub of Evan Peters which was a big disappointment to her.

I would looove for Sean Hayes to get nominated and he deserves the nomination.
