Mr. Robot starts filming this month and it seems unlikely to return in time for this year’s Emmys. Maybe a fall premiere.

    You forgot the SAG winner.

Ew, as I said above I’m a fan of the show but he should no way set foot near that award. I prefer Brown repeating. At least the latter is just annoying, not a hyprocrite.

Based on the first episode, Black Monday won’t be a serious contender at the Emmys. It’s meh. Don Cheadle is playing pretty much the same character he had in House of Lies.

Which means he’ll probably win the Golden Globe.

Cumberbatch is eligible, as always. Mahershala Ali has to be the early frontrunner though.

Who are the Lead Actor in a Limited Series or TV Movie contenders?

    1. Mahershala Ali – True Detective
    2. Cody Fern – AHS: Apocalypse (might go supporting)
    3. Peter Dinklage – My Dinner with Hervé
    4. Hugh Grant – A Very English Scandal
    5. Anthony Hopkins – King Lear
    6. Jharrel Jerome – Central Park Five (or whatever actor from that show decides to go lead)
    7. Bill Pullman – The Sinner
    8. Sam Rockwell – Fosse/Verdon
    9. Alexander Skarsgård – The Little Drummer Girl
    10. Benicio del Toro – Escape from Dannemora

I’m not saying that any of these guys will get nominated, I’m just saying that they’ll likely all be in the running.

This will be the most boring Emmys in years with overrated GoT sweeping simply because it’s GoT. Even the best actress in a drama race won’t be exciting. At least limited series look more interesting this season than the last…

I really doubt Cody Fern is going to be nominated unless it’s a makeup nomination for Versace.

Speaking of makeup nominations, I suspect Evan Peters will get a nomination for supporting actor for AHS following the blueprint of Asian Porter.

This race seems to be weak indeed. I feel this could be Odenkirk’s year.

Oh God, i forgot that he is in the running, and so are Brown and Ventimiglia, well then is not going to be weak category at all, we have the three of them, Madden, Porter, James, Harrington, maybe Dinklage and maybe Ali (I do not think that HBO will make the same mistake twice, but who knows). And we have four more months of eligibility. Odenkirk have great tapes, but Ventimiglia have even better, Porter have an amazing tapes. James also have a lot. We will see.

Is This Is Us still generating any buzz? I can’t see any of the guys winning at this point.
I feel like Bodyguard and Pose won’t make a big impact at the Emmys, but I can be wrong here.
HBO won’t put Dinklage in lead after three supporting wins and Harrington is not a great actor.
Jones could be a dark horse depending on how Homecoming will do in nominations, but I don’t think he’s well known enough to win.
Odenkirk feels like the safest option to me right now as his performance is getting more and more acclaimed.
Ali would be a strong contender, but I don’t think HBO will pull McConaghey again as well.

HBO probably want to give Harington the best shot of winning so they’ll most likely keep Ali in Limited.
