Lorde, the amount of Outlander stans in the comments

I’m a fan of the show but BAFTA have barely acknowledged it….aside from the Scottish awards!

Lol we know. Read up the page!

Apologies, I was that excited (sad I know) that I forgot to look at the previous page. To me, it was definitely worth posting twice lol.

Just wondering is killing eve season 3 also eligible along with season 2 for the baftas because of the delay

Nah, it’ll just be Series 2 as the eligibility date would have been the last day of 2019.

Seeing as there isn’t an event in the predictions center for this, I thought I’d use some free time to compile a list of all the contenders that this thread has mentioned thus far for each category. Hope it helps with predictions – it has certainly helped me do mine!

Fantastic gathering of information there. I’m rooting for a Merseyside hat-trick of Stephen Graham, Jodie Comer (wishful thinking) and Glenda Jackson in the acting categories.

Also when I was going through the pages I saw quite a few people using the old rules for Drama Series vs. Mini Series eligibility. It is no longer done based on number of episodes. Instead it is much more wishy washy, like the Emmys. Now the rules read:

    6. MINI-SERIES
A drama series, between two and 19 episodes, that tells a complete story and is not intended to return, e.g.
A Very English Scandal, Kiri, Mrs Wilson, Patrick Melrose.

    7. DRAMA SERIES
A drama series, between two and 19 episodes, that is intended to return. E.g. Bodyguard, Informer, Killing
    Eve, Save Me

My Asa Butterfield interview is after the nominations, so I am glad that we might be able to talk about them.  Ncuti Gatwa should be just before.

Interesting. Russell T. Davies hasn’t won a BAFTA since 2005. Could BAFTA decide to award him this year with some award or the other for Years and Years like the Emmys did for David E. Kelley?

FYC Emmys : Jodie Comer ("Killing Eve"), Ruth Wilson ("His Dark Materials"), Russell Tovery ("Years and Years"), Helena Bonham Carter ("The Crown") & The Crown, His Dark Materials, Years and Years, Succession and The Affair in all categories. The Politician : Ben Platt, Gwyneth Paltrow, Bette Midler and Judith Light.

FYC Goldderby Awards : MAURA TIERNEY AND DOMINIC WEST FOR THE FINAL SEASON OF THE AFFAIR

I noticed that only one show has repeated in the International category at the BAFTAs and that was Mad Men in 2010. Does we think that harms Succession’s chances? I would say it doesn’t have much of an impact because Succession seems to scream BAFTA all over it but I don’t think it helps Succession very much.

    Jason Watkins
    Tobias Menzies
    Helena Bonham Carter
    Olivia Colman
    Charles Dance

Why is nobody predicting Olivia Colman for The Crown. Foy got in twice after winning US awards such as the Golden Globe and SAG. Colman is a BAFTA favourite so I don’t get why they would just forget about her
