@agloster94 from the trailer it looks like the case but from the promo being done, RTD said it’s an Ensemble cast being led by Tovey, Thompson and Hynes. It could be like AVES where Grant was in Lead and Whishaw in Supporting when the former was more of a supporting performance.

FYC BAFTA : Florence Pugh, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Greta Gerwig, Renée & Joaquin
FYC Oscar ; Renée Zellweger, Joaquin Phoenix & Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
FYC GD : Florence Pugh in all Categories, Wild Rose (Best Song)
FYC BAFTA TV : Olivia Colman, Killing Eve, Russell Tovey, Years and Years
FYC Emmys : Jodie Comer, Olivia Colman, Ruth Wilson

Thank you to Wolfali for creating this thread and for gamely attempting to predict (especially when we were all about 50% on our final predictions this year when everything had been seen!)

For me, the two acting performances I feel confident about being nominated even now are –

Kelly Macdonald – The Victim (which feels like Sarah Lancashire in Happy Valley – both exceptional AND showy, she has set a high bar for everyone else to clear if she’ll be bested)

Anna Maxwell Martin – Line Of Duty (she managed to chew all scenery and eclipse every other actor without ever raising her voice – this was Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada levels of confident grandstanding – plus, this being BAFTA TV, her previous successes will not count against her contending for the win)

@kermit_the_frog I agree on AMM, KM would in a normal year but with ET, OC, JC, SO, SJ, KH, VM and several high profile performances in contention for Best Actress, anything is to play for. Also @agloster94 created this thread and not me…

Huh? Doctor Who has not aired and will not air in 2019. Out of curiosity @gabarnes43 , why do you have The Durrells in Best Actress and Must See Moment but not Drama Series?

I think it’s last scene will be up for TV Moment. It was clear this year that they really like Keeley Hawes, so I just slotted her in. I don’t think the series as a whole is worthy enough for a series nom.

I didn’t realise Doctor Who wasn’t airing this year.

FYC Oscars- Little Women, Saoirse Ronan, Joaquin Phoenix, Scarlett Johansson/Florence Pugh

    Years & Years: Episode One

Takes some getting used to, but when it clicks, you can feel it’s finger poking in your ear and prodding your brain for, I suspect, a good few days.

Emma Thompson’s Supporting so far. As is everyone else, though maybe my future husband Russell Tovey as lead.

I think Drama Actress and Series are much closer races than expected, with Thompson, Comer and Colman being close (I have a feeling they will fraud Thompson into Lead Actress) (predicted winners in bold, alternates in italics).

    Drama Series:
    The Crown (Netflix)
    His Dark Materials (BBC One)
    Killing Eve (BBC One)
    Line Of Duty (BBC One)

Alt (in order of next in line): Peaky Blinders, The Durrells, Luther, Noughts and Crosses, Liar, Gentleman Jack

    Mini Series:

    Years and Years (BBC One)
    Les Miserables (BBC One)
    The Virtues (Channel 4)
    Noughts and Crosses (BBC One)

Alt (in order of next in line) : Good Omens, Chernobyl, The Trial of Christine Keeler, The Victim, MotherFatherSon, Gentleman Jack, The Widow, Catherine the Great

    Leading Actress:
    Jodie Comer- Killing Eve
    Olivia Colman- The Crown
    Emma Thompson- Years and Years
    Keeley Hawes- The Durrells

Alt (in order of next in line) : Dafne Keen (His Dark Materials), Kelly MacDonald (The Victim), Ruth Wilson (Luther), Helen McRory (MotherFatherSon), Sophie Cookson (The Trial of Christine Keeler), Masali Baduza (Noughts and Crosses), Suranne Jones (Gentleman Jack), Joanne Froggat (Liar), Lily Collins (Les Miserables), Helen Mirren (Catherine the Great), Vicky McClure (Line of Duty)

    Leading Actor:

    Benedict Cumberbatch- Brexit
    Adrian Dunbar- Line Of Duty
    Idris Elba – Luther
    Stephen Graham – The Virtues

Alt : Charlie Heaton (The Elephant Man), Andrew Scott (Black Mirror), Dominic West (Les Miserables), Jack Rowan (Noughts and Crosses), Richard Gere (MotherFatherSon), James Harkness (The Victim), Michael Sheen (Good Omens), David Tennant (Good Omens), Jared Harris (Chernobyl), James Norton (The Trial of Christine Keeler), Tobias Menzies (The Crown)

    Supporting Actress:

Ruth Wilson- His Dark Materials (I feel she is going to get double nominations like Keeley Hawes this year. This performance and the character is one that I feel confident will score a BAFTA nod)
Helena Bonham Carter- The Crown (Princess Margaret, The Crown, Helena Bonham Carter, need I say more?!?!)
Jessica Hynes – Years and Years
Anna Maxwell Martin – Line of Duty (scene-stealing role that’s a lock for a nomination but has no chance at winning).

Alt : Emilia Fox – The Trial of Christine Keeler (I feel we shouldn’t count out The Trial of Christine Keeler but I have put it lower down due to how competitive next year will be. I feel she may edge it because of Monica Dolan this year, it’s a similar-ish performance in the sense that she’s playing Valerie Profumo), Fiona Shaw (Killing Eve) (reigning champ), Jessie Buckley (Chernobyl) (BAFTA rising star nominee), Olivia Colman (Les Miserables) (it’s Olivia Colman ffs), Helen Baxendale (Noughts and Crosses), Emerald Fennel (The Crown) (Camilla, could get double nominated for her writing on Killing Eve), Hermione Norris (Luther), Polly Walker (Line of Duty) (in the event of a LoD sweep, she has the ep), Anna Maxwell Martin (Good Omens) (she’s playing Beelzebub in an adaptation of Good Omens that seems like it’s the most British thing ever) (there are more but it will be too much to write them all here)

    Supporting Actor:

Stephen Graham- Line Of Duty (double nominated, Guest Series Reg of LoD always gets nominated)
James McAvoy – His Dark Materials
Josh O’Connor- The Crown (Prince Charles? Also has roles in The Durrells and Les Mis, which probably will get him nominated for Best Actor for all three at BPG)
Russell Tovey- Years and Years (Y&Y sweep)

    Scripted Comedy:
    Fleabag
    Derry Girls
    After Life
    Sex Education

    Male Comedy Performance:

    Andrew Scott- Fleabag
    Ricky Gervais- After Life

After episode 4 I really want to see Maxim Baldry and T’Nia Miller nominated. Miller had two fantastic episodes back-to-back and Baldry facial acting was outstanding, hoping for more of it the final two episodes.

I don’t know if they actually will be though since I think that Tovey and Thompson are going leads since their the biggest names and unlike the aforementioned two, they faced internalised completion from Kinnear and bafta favourite Hynes.
