They’ll probably push Emma Thompson in lead. At first I thought Russell Tovey would be lead but he doesn’t appear in the last 2 episodes

FYC Golden Globes- Fleabag, The Crown, Olivia Colman, Jennifer Aniston

FYC Oscars- Maggie Smith, Charlize Theron, Brad Pitt, Adam Driver

FYC Emmys- Schitts Creek, The Crown, Years and Years

Wow, just saw the first ep of Big Little Lies season 2…

…Meryl is winning that Emmy in a landslide (even if there are three or four BLL actresses nominated). If she doesn’t, I’ll riot.

FYC GG : The Crown, Jodie Comer ("Killing Eve"), The Politician, Years and Years, Maura Tierney ("The Affair"), Russell Tovey ("Years and Years")
FYC CC : His Dark Materials, Ruth Wilson ("His Dark Materials"), Jodie Comer ("Killing Eve"), Russell Tovey ("Years and Years")
FY SAG : The Crown, The Politician, Years and Years
FYC BAFTA : His Dark Materials, Years and Years

Yeah I don’t think she necessarily deserves nominations but she was great and I don’t understand the “hate” around her. She remained, imo, the best young actor on the show and one of the best cast member.

I don’t hate her I just find her performance in season 2 nothing of extraordinary. On the other hand Noah completely acted his ass off and completely overshadowed Brown. Don’t get me wrong she’s good. But I mean she managed to get a nod in a much crowded category while Schnapp was snubbed for a really weak field. Mandy Patinkin over him?! Really?! That’s why I said they clearly didn’t watched the second season. At least the majority.

No, Regina King ain’t happening for that role and Sandra Oh will probably miss.

Footage of everyone watching as Big Little Lies comes to complete another sweep (I’m Reese by the way):

Well, I was really talking about it’s performance throughout the awards season as a whole with series, acting, directing, etc., but I guess putting it in the Emmys thread didn’t really help that.

Only one episode’s been released, but I feel like Euphoria could be a contender in the Limited Series categories (if that’s where it qualifies) based on the quality of what’s been seen so far.

Possible entries include: Little Fires Everywhere, The Underground Railroad, Your Honor, The Good Lord Bird

You’re an angel. An absolute angel.

But why Killing Eve wouldn’t be above Pose or Succession when it’s a “lock” this year while the other 2 aren’t?

I consider it a lock this year because Drama Series is so empty, plus some residual goodwill from the stellar first season. I also think Pose and Succession are getting in this year, and that Killing Eve is above This is Us because the former is maudlin trash, and Homeland because who cares about Homeland anymore?

As a fan, I also happen to think that Season 2 was very good television, just not great Killing Eve, if that makes any sense. And if season 3 is an improvement, it will hopefully get in next year.

I believe it would compete in the Drama categories, but I certainly agree with you. Zendaya deserves an Emmy nomination just for the first episode alone. She’s an absolute revelation in this.

Winning doesn’t secure you a nod; Rami Malek says hi. I wish we’d wait and see how Killing Eve S2 does first.

Oscar FYC - Lupita Nyong'o & Elisabeth Moss ("Us") - Best Actress & Supporting Actress. It must happen; otherwise the Tethered are coming.

That’s right but I can see her getting another (and last one) nomination next year.

Also it’s possible that Reese is very vulnerable for BLL (she shouldn’t be because she is amazing) because her role on Morning Show or Little Fire Everywhere would be more talked about, so voters wouldn’t think it’s necessary to nominated her twice or thrice, especially if Drama Actress is crowded.
