    Maeve=Tyrion=Fan Favourite receiving the most attention from award bodies as well Dolores=Daenerys=Doesn’t necessarily inspire the same level of love from everyone but inarguably the most popular and the most iconic character from the show.

    Bernard = Jon Snow

    I would say “featuring” based on the trailer.

    Hahn isn’t happening for Mrs. Fletcher, though she was great.

    Me too. It looks terrific and very timely. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s the most acclaimed show out of all the contenders. Not saying that means the Emmy’s will go for it, but it can’t hurt.

    Seems very likely based on the Academy’s historical affinity for David Simon projects…

    You’re probably right, but I remember her nom for Transparent as a pretty big surprise (and if I remember her character was like the 4th most prominent supporting female on her show), so if there’s enough affinity for her as a performer maybe she could surprise again

    It’s David Simon and the Emmys you guys. I won’t believe it until I see it happening in front of my eyes.
    With him on the stage and everything.

    I know David Simon hasn’t been overly popular with The Television Academy, but some of you act as though he’s never been nominated or won an Emmy before lol. I’m not saying The Plot Against America will be embraced come May, but it’s not some wild prediction, especially after watching the trailer.

    Something I will pay attention to this year when it comes to predicting the winners, ultimately, is something Riley has brought up in the last two years: always predict the “face” of the show to win before any other cast member. For instance, Colman wasn’t going to win for “Fleabag” before Phoebe; Vanessa Kirby wasn’t going to win for “The Crown” before the queen herself, Claire Foy; no one from “Westworld” was going to win before Newton did, who IMO has become the face of the show. I will apply that same logic to Olivia Colman and HBC this year; while Colman’s presence isn’t as significant as Foy’s, I don’t see them giving HBC the statuette without also giving it to Colman. So, IMO, they either come as a package or not at all.

    Emmys FYC - "Unbelievable" and "The Handmaid's Tale" in all categories; Viola Davis in Best Drama Actress for the final season of "HTGAWM;" "Ozark:" Drama Series, Laura Linney (Best Actress) and Julia Garner (Best Supporting Actress)

    Well, I would say that Bateman is the face of Ozark, not Garner.

    Hmm, IMO Ruth is the breakout character tbh. She’s who I think about when I think about Ozark. And of course, the rule doesn’t always apply. Plus, vote-splitting is what also helped Garner, I presume.

    I feel like this only works if the two actors are in the same category, like Comer and Oh. Colman and Kirby were never as likely to win in their category as PWB and Foy were. And that’s just a fact. And I think it’s a bit of a stretch to say Newton is the face of Westworld. I think if it’s something like Aniston or Witherspoon – you go with the face of the show, which is Aniston.
