It was a tough one between Luca and all threads should be polls. Sometimes I sneakily see what you’re predicting and then copy (sorry Luca).
I can’t believe we’ve almost made it! Let the Watchmen and
Successionsweep commence! :ReplyCopy URLFYC:
"The Good Fight", "The Other Two" and "Station Eleven" in all categories, Sarah Lancashire ("Julia"), William Jackson Harper ("Love Life") and Luke Kirby ("The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel")
July 26, 2020 at 8:35 pm #1203604828Not saying that they were more right, but my predictions had much more internal logic a month ago. Categories in which I have really subscribed to hierarchical predictions in recent years have tended to be where I have gotten the best results and I am uncomfortable with how I have let that fall by the wayside as we have gotten deeper into this season. I have justified it with the longer season allowing for there to be less of a discrepancy in visibility between shows, plus the greater external factors this year, but I am trying to take a hard look at my predictions right now.

Don’t. It’s over. Let your predictions be!

ReplyCopy URLJuly 26, 2020 at 11:40 pm #1203604977Oh dear, I really do need to take a look at my predictions again because I just messed around with them yesterday. Nothing is final yet!
(Oh, and spoiler alert: I will not be in the top 10 this year because I have no clue what I am doing!)

Brooklyn Nine-Nine → Insecure
Ricky Gervais → Dave Burd
Betty Gilpin → Yvonne Orji
Isla Fisher → Maya Rudolph #2
Gerald McRaney → Martin Short
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt → The Clark Sisters
Russell Crowe → Hugh JackmanJuly 27, 2020 at 3:06 am #1203605098My final changes:
1. Added Tobias Menzies (The Crown) – took out Billy Porter. That newcomer stat in this category is way too strong to ignore, and he is in a very high profile series that is a guaranteed priority watch.
2. Added both Evan Rachel Wood and Jeffrey Wright (Westworld) – they are two for two, have yet to miss and there are zero indications that Emmy voters are tired of it. As Westworld’s last performance at the Emmys shows.
3. Added Molly Shannon (Will and Grace) – she is a previous nominee in this category for the same role.
4. Added Michelle Dockery (Defending Jacob) – 4 Lead Actress Emmy nominations is nothing to scoff at. And she’s a previous nominee in this category. And I believe Emmy voters definitely watched it. The Whodunnit crime mystery is right up they alley.
5. Added Damon Herriman (Mindhunter) – just like with Cameron Britton, the transformative performance speaks for itself and is high profile enough.
My NGNG Pick: Hugh Laurie (Avenue 5). I have a hunch it’s going to happen. It’s HBO, it’s Hugh Laurie, so I am certain they watched it.

You have a point but I see actors gravitating towards Watchmen more because of what it’s about.
