We’ve all been wondering in advance as to who will be nominated for the Globes, SAG, Emmys, BAFTAs etc but I thought it may interesting to predict the awards that we as GoldDerby members have control over, the GoldDerby Television Awards, here are my predictions, for now as a lot can happen between now and nominations day (may be tainted with hopes bias so I do apologise in advance if that is the case):

Shouldn’t AHS race in limited series since 1984 didn’t have any characters or story elements from previous seasons? Apocalypse was competing in drama because it was a sequel to Coven and Murder House.

I actually think these are pretty spot on, though I don’t see Witherspoon getting in for BLL. That spot will go to either Jodie or Viola.

Yeah I also don’t see Jodie getting left out when she has a huge fanbase in here. Reese will get into Limited Actress.

Don’t underestimate Queen V. though – but I don’t think she’d get in at the expense of Jodie.

With the final slot I am torn between Jodie, Viola and Reese. I am going with Reese at the moment as I was shocked that Killing Eve couldn’t crack the top 30 long-list of Drama episodes when it was nominated in this category last year whilst Big Little Lies got two slots in the 30 episode longlist which I think implies a lot of support from Goldderby users for the latter and a drop off of support for the former.

I don’t see Kidman, Linney, Moss, Aniston and (yes) Colman missing.

Don’t understimate Jane Lapotaire in Guest Actress. She’s definetly win competitive in here. There’s a lot of users that want her to win. Alexis was fantastic (as always) but I don’t see anyone talking about her. I feel like her ship has already sailed (at Gold Derby obviously). As for Drama Episode I can actually see either “Fire Pink” or “Aberfan” winning instead, specially if Succession gets three episodes. I see a lot of fans of the show divided on the their favourite episode of the season. But It could be another Jodie/Sandra situation, where the episodes split votes but still finish at the top.

Actress – Linney (Kidman and are probably the closest to actual having a chance but it’s like 98% Linney and 2% them)
Supporting Actress – Carter vs Snook (Dern and Strahovski 10% chance altogether)

Only I’d say about a lot of these predictions is every year people do them based on assessing opinions in the forums when in actuality the people that speak on here are only a tiny fragment of the number of silent users who end up voting. The results are always more boring/sheepy than they would be if it was just forum users.

I agree. Hence why I am predicting Colman and Witherspoon and why I wouldn’t be surprised if Strahovski or Dern won.
