What? A Doctor Foster spin off that doesn’t explicitly say it’s a Doctor Foster spin off?

If David Tennant doesn’t win this year he’ll never win a BAFTA.

It’s interesting because next year ITV can go from failing to do well at the BAFTAs to dominating with major nominations for Des, Honour and Quiz. It would certainly save a network that at the moment seems to be on its knees.

Is I May Destroy You getting a second series? Figured that one would be a Mini-Series.

I think it will end up in Drama here. There is a question mark over whether it’s a one off or not but I think at worst BAFTA will great treat it like Giri/Haji here.

Ah okay. Given its disappointing cancellation, Giri/Haji probably should have ended up in the Mini-Series category lol

What do we think about Honour’s chances after its airing in UK this week? I think it has a chance of making Mini-Series and Actress (Keeley Hawes).

However, articles like this may affect it: https://www.digitalspy.com/tv/a34187177/honour-on-itv-controversy-review/

I don’t think Honour is getting nominated for Mini-Series. It’s too controversial. I mean I guess that didn’t stop The State or Three Girls but they got raves.

I do think Hawes can get nominated but I still think Actress is becoming a two horse race between Coel and Piper as time goes by.

Best Actress Michaela Coel – I May Destroy You Daisy Edgar Jones – Normal People Billie Piper – I Hate Suzie Letitia Wright – Small Axe: Mangrove

Genuine question have we ever had an Actress lineup that young? I mean if this ends up being the lineup then the oldest person will be Billie who is only 39.

That being said I think Billie and Michaela are locks already. Would be very surprised if they missed.

Given that the likes of Helen Mirren, Julie Walters, Victoria Wood and Judi Dench dominated this for years I’d say no.

Although recently we’ve seen a move towards a younger nominee slate (2016 & 2018 in particular).

And even then Thandie Newton was still 44. It would just be a very strange jump from Glenda Jackson to Daisy Edgar-Jones for example lol.

I actually really think even Daisy is close to being a lock here (even if Mescal misses she could still end up like Keeley Hawes did in 2019). For me it’s a question of who is the 4th nominee as I’m finding it hard to choose between Comer, Colman, Lancashire, Staunton, Manville, Hawes, Wright, Clifford and Duff.
