What do you guys have in your predictions for the International Series category?
Not sure tbh, it’s not my favourite category to predict lol. I think The Queen’s Gambit has to be locked given the buzz it’s developed recently.

Yep I think The Queen’s Gambit is locked. I also think that Mrs. America should be in. It got a lot of buzz when it aired in the UK at the time and was trending on Twitter plus BAFTA love these type of BBC Two acquisitions of FX prestige dramas (although then again they did snub Fosse/Verdon this year).
At the moment I have Mrs. America, The Queen’s Gambit, Ted Lasso and Unorthodox but I’m wondering if The Undoing for example or Ozark or The Boys might crash the party. There is a lot of buzz in the UK for The Undoing at the moment (see Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant doing every piece of promotion possible here) and it’s an audience hit and performed much better with British critics than American ones, Ozark could be this year’s Unbelievable and The Boys could be this year’s Euphoria.
Is there anything else noteworthy?

Mrs. America makes a lot of sense as does Ozark. If we’re going for a documentary option, then The Last Dance or Tiger King are possibilities.

I forgot those existed lol (I deliberately avoid watching reality TV because I know people who are obsessed with it and have had their lives ruined).

I can’t stand reality TV either. My mum keeps trying to get me to watch the likes of “I’m a Celebrity” with her which is a big no-go haha.
I didn’t get the hype over Tiger King but its popularity could bolster its chances. As for The Last Dance, that was one of the best programmes I’ve seen this year.

December 10, 2020 at 3:26 am #1203907393I really liked White House Farm. I think its popularity is a product of the Bamber case being a very high profile and publicized “investigation”, and Jeremy Bamber is still a well known name in Britain (there’s still a whole movement to get him exonerated). I think it could snap up a few noms. Gemma Whelan deserves, but I feel like she’s doomed to always be the ignored actress in an ensemble piece.

Great work Wolfali. I was struggling to pick a sixth Best Supporting Actor nominee until I realised that Malachi Kirby was absent from the list.

15. Monica Dolan, Talking Heads = 100/1 odds (-)If Jodie does actually get nominated might she actually win this time considering BAFTA’s tape system and the bait of Killing Eve episode 5? It’s already tough enough trying to see which one of Michaela and Billie have baitier tapes (at the moment I’m leaning towards Billie).
