The Handmaid’s Tale is not going to be eligible. I don’t think it’s returning this year.

Oscar FYC - Lupita Nyong'o & Elisabeth Moss ("Us") - Best Actress & Supporting Actress. It must happen; otherwise the Tethered are coming.

They are scheduled to finish filming the finale in early August, so they could return by the end of the year.

Oh wow, I had no idea! Thanks for the information! That makes me quite happy. I thought that it would take them longer, but I guess the reduced episode count helps.

I think This Is Us will return to Drama Ensemble. I think it’s one of those cases where the nomination is the hurdle but they can easily win when  nominated. Even though they’ve won twice before, this year’s snub was disappointing but didn’t really suprise me much because they were against a lot of bigger, popular shows that have plenty of well-liked, established actors. Honestly, it’s easy for voters to check off something that has a Laura Dern, Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon…. or a show having Steve Carrell and Jennifer Aniston and huge shows like Stranger Things and Game of Thrones whereas Us kinda has Sterling K. Brown to rely on.

If This Is Us returns, I think it’ll win again.

Nothing would make me happier! It really deserves it tbh.

This Is Us is neither returning to nor winning drama ensemble again. Its days at SAG are over. Shows very rarely come back, unless the field is really barren. I’m definitely not deeming it impossible, but it’s unlikely.

Succession is winning Best Drama Ensemble

I guarantee you this wont happen. The show is way more polarizing than people think and the SAG body is massive and not swayed by critics. A show about a bunch of awful white rich people being awful to each other does not appeal to the masses…. I wouldn’t be surprised if “The Crown” wins again. Plus Netflix (and Amazon) spend so much on campaigning, it’s insane.

Also there is a possibility The Crown, now starring Gillian Anderson as Margaret Thatcher and Emma Corrin as Diana could take up three spaces in the actress category.

Whether The Crown wins or loses the Emmy this year, it’s sweeping every Drama Series and Supporting Actress award till the Emmys (apart from the Globes where I think Ratched will be rewarded with Drama Series).
