I would love to see Edie Falco from The Sopranos and Allison Janney from The West Wing present Drama Series. They both traded Drama Lead Actress wins for a few years, both their shows were Emmy rivals with Falco’s show arguably the more acclaimed as time has gone bye but with Janney’s show getting significantly more Emmy love, especially in the Drama Series category. I just think they would be an iconic pair worthy of presenting the biggest and final prize of the evening. Plus, they are both nominees already for Law and Order True Crimes: The Menendez Murders and Mom, so they are going to be there anyway. Why not smartly take advantage of that?

For your Goldderby Film Awards consideration: Isle of Dogs for every category, especially Music Score for Alexandre Desplat!

Very interesting, I’d really like that! But I also know that many people want Falco and Wever to present, which would also make sense.

But honestly, Ann Dowd and Margo Martindale need to present. Both of them will be there (Martindale as part of The Americans’ cast) and people have been wanting this for a while now. I’d love for them to invite Viola Davis & Cicely Tyson to present together, that would mean so much to so many people. Also with Palladino there, have some Gilmore Girls pairings. Milo Ventimiglia & Alexis Bledel are both nominees, so why not pair them?

Amanda would LOVE Gilmore Girls pairings! Do it for her I say, for a fandom in general that saw their favorite show consistently snubbed by the Emmys outside of a makeup nod and win one year.

Surely they’ll get Candice Bergen to present (20 years since Murphy Brown’s original run ended and the same year that it will return).

It’s also been 20 years since Seinfeld ended so maybe there is a Seinfeld reunion in some way.

Those would be great presenters. Bergen presenting Comedy Actress and Jerry Seinfeld, JLD and either Larry David or Jason Alexander together presenting Comedy Series.

I think Bergen and JLD should present Best Actor in a Comedy together.

I’m just hoping the GLOW women come out together in costume to present something.

The Seinfeld people should not present Comedy Series since Larry David is nominated there.

Since NBC is airing the telecast this year, won’t Lorne Michaels want a majority of the presenters to be from past or present NBC shows?

But what about when the cast of “Taxi,” including Marilu Henner, presented Lead Actor in a Comedy Series when Burt Reynolds was nominated (and won) for “Evening Shade”?
    Oh, man, I cursed him, didn’t I?

Roseanne presented to Laurie Metcalf one year. Larry David announced Veep one year. Doesn’t make it right. Never a good look for any awards show.

NBC is allowed to have slightly more presenters than CBS, Fox and ABC this year. Just slightly more, maybe 2-3 more total. That’s contractual. Add up the numbers when the ceremony is over.

They can also invite some presenters that aren’t currently tied to any network and a very small number of other network people (like HBO, Showtime, FX, Netflix, etc).

Also awkward when it does not work out, like the Baby Driver stars presenting the sound Oscars to Dunkirk.

"I don't even believe in god, but I'm going to thank her tonight."
