I’m curious why doesn’t the SAG awards have a category for “Ensemble Cast of a Made for TV Movie or Mini-Series”. It would seem that since they have a category for the Male and Female Actors in this field that they should also have a category for the entire ensemble, just as they do for full series.

In your opinion why don’t they have this category and should they have one?

They definitely should have a category.

Yeah. I’ve mentioned this several times. It should be added.

This year it would go to The Normal Heart.

    In the past few years:
    2013: Behind the Candelabra
    2012: Game Change
    2011: Downton Abbey
    2010: Temple Grandin
    2009: Grey Gardens
    2008: John Adams

And while they’re at it, how about “Outstanding Ensemble in an Animated Feature Film”. Yeah, it’s a long shot, but yeah, I can dream.

FYC: Ready Player One. Sound Editing, Sound Mixing, Visual Effects, Original Score, Production Design, Director and BEST PICTURE (make it happen Oscars!!)

I would love them to add this category. Then shows like American Horror Story could compete in the miniseries/movie categories without merging over to drama looking for that ensemble nod.

It seems like such a big oversight. and since SAG-Aftra is one unit now, they should add categories for the daytime soaps, which until the merger were covered mostly by AFTRA.
