I would like to know what y’all think about Dinklage’s hypothetical third Emmy.

Personally i would like him to win but, in an objective way, I don’t think he’s deserving for that seventh installment of Got, I feel like he was clearly left behind while he has always been in the center of the action … he submitted the 7×07 just like Lena Headey and i don’t think he was big in that episode… but after I’ve seen all the others nominees’ submissions I really think he stand a chance…

    What are your thoughts?

As the most iconic character in a show that has changed the TV landscape forever, I wouldn’t be upset if he tied the record amount of wins in the category.

Does he deserve it for the last few seasons? No, but he was robbed for S4, deserved it for S1, and on the balance of things, has created an all-time great supporting role.

I think Lena Headey is the one from the GoT ensemble who deserves it the most. Dinklage having 3 and Lena Headey having 0 would be too unrealistic, because she is the real MVP of the series.

I’m glad you acknowledged that he does not deserved for the last season .. however I have to desagree with you about him been robbed for the 4th season… Evertime he lost towards Aaron Paul he lost fairly… breaking bad vs Got is another subject but the three main characters from BB deserved all the Emmys they got.

And yes he created an all time great supporting role.

I just watched the season finale again, and he definitely deserves to win for this episode. He is constantly great on GoT but in this one he shine. Works fine for me if he ties the record

    Lena deserves it more though.

I actually have Aaron Paul winning supporting actor for S1-3.

When Breaking Bad took the year off, that’s an easy win for Dinklage in GoT S1.

The next year (BB S4), I have Esposito winning. The year after, Jonathan Banks, and for the final year of BB vs. GoT S4, I went for Dinklage with Paul as runner-up.

So I have only awarded Dinklage twice, but he has been consistently great throughout Game of Thrones. He has just had less material the past 2-3 seasons, but I expect it to ramp up for the final one.

    To make it less confusing:

    2008: Aaron Paul
    2009: Aaron Paul
    2010: Aaron Paul
    2011: Peter Dinklage
    2012: Giancarlo Esposito
    2013: Jonathan Banks
    2014: Peter Dinklage
    2015: Mandy Patinkin
2016: Alan Alda (Horace & Pete)
    2017: Milo Ventimiglia

Dinklage clearly deserves it on merit for Season 7. He really was given an opportunity to shine with his material and he nailed it.

Did you see seasons 1, 2 and 4 though?

    Personal Winners
2009: Michael Emerson (RU: Aaron Paul)
2010: Aaron Paul (RU: Terry O’Quinn)
2011: Peter Dinklage (RU: Walton Goggins)
2012: Giancarlo Esposito (RU: Aaron Paul)
2013: Nikolaj Costar-Waldau (RU: Aaron Paul)
2014: Aaron Paul (RU: Peter Dinklage)
2015: Jonathan Banks (RU: Ben Mendelsohn)
2016: Michael McKean (RU: Kit Harrington)
2017: John Lithgow (RU: Michael McKean)
2018: Noah Schnapp (RU: Matt Smith)

I’m genuinely surprised that the Emmy winners match up with my winners or runner-ups on 6/9 occasions so far. I also think I’m probably more okay with Ben Mendelsohn’s win now than I was before because he really was spectacular for season 1 and I don’t mind his make-up win as much now.

I actually agree with most of these. The only big difference is that Johnathan Banks would have been my 2015 winner. Michael Kelly was also incredible in Season 3 of House of Cards that year. Dinklage didn’t do much of interest in Seasons 5 and 6 other than drink, know stuff, and finally meet Dany, the latter of which admittedly was a cool moment in “Hardhome.”
