With Jennifer Aniston possibly winning her second Emmy and possibly becoming the first leading actress to achieve the feat of winning a comedy then drama Emmy I was wondering which other performers have achieved a similar rare feat?

The only ones I can think of off the top of my head are Merritt Wever (who technically doesn’t count because her second Emmy was a Limited series one) and Edie Falco.

FYC OSCARS : PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN IN ALL CATEGORIES (ESP. ACTRESS – Carey Mulligan AND ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY — EMERALD FENNELL), VANESSA KIRBY FOR "PIECES OF A WOMAN", ESSIE DAVIS FOR "BABYTEETH"

Ed Asner and Uzo Aduba have won for the same role (Lou Grant and Crazy Eyes respectively) in both comedy and drama.

I guess yes but what I mean was more for different roles (i.e. Edie Falco)

Not only does Allison Janney have several on both sides for Mom and The West Wing, she also won on both sides in the same year (comedy supporting for Mom and drama guest for Masters of Sex)

With Jennifer Aniston possibly winning her second Emmy and possibly becoming the first person to achieve the feat of winning a comedy then drama Emmy

Michael J Fox and Alan Alda have achieved that actually;  both won multiple times on the comedy side first and then won one Emmy on the drama side.

Others who won drama and comedy Emmys (not counting Limited Series/TV Movies): Cloris Leachman, John Lithgow, Doris Roberts.

I meant first actress and first Lead but I’ll adjust my comment to make it clearer.

What did Fox and Alda win for on the Drama side and were they in Lead categories?

So if Aniston wins (which I really hope she does), she will join Falco as the only two women to have Lead Actress Emmy’s for both categories?
