This episode just feels like it didn’t add anything to the storyline you know! Glad to see that Finn Wittrock is coming back though!!

It would be pretty amazing for Rita/Donna to be the “final girl” and subvert the expectations of the horror genre. But I know that’s not gonna happen, even as I’m writing this out lol.

Ok this finale was great BUT I still have one question: Margaret and Trevor are dead so who owns the camp now because I really was hoping they would make one last connection to a prior season like lets say Billie Dean Howard would be there. My grade: A

Ryan Murphy revealed that many of the fan favorites will return for season 10 as it might be the last. FX and him are still negotiating about the future of the franchise. He even said that if FX cancels it can be revived in Netflix, but I don’t think 10th will be the last as it’s the most watched show of FX and CEO of FX loves the show.

So I will be the naysayer (there has to be one in every crowd) and say this was an awful season. I didn’t like the writing, the directing was meh and the performances (outside of Lily Rabe and most of the time John Carroll Lynch) were just no (that’s even with me not taking amateur Gus into consideration). Coven was the last AHS I completely liked. Freak Show had its moments and some very good performances. I turned off Hotel after a few episodes and refused to watch Roanoke and Cult. I had a friend convince me to watch Apocalypse. We are no longer friends (I kid I kid). But this season should mean I’m done again. But I will say, Ryan Murphy just doesn’t do it for me. He’s good at the beginning of things and then it trails off for me. Same with Glee and Popular, so I may just not like his and Brad’s style overall.

I thought this season could have been so much more. It’s like the writers did not even care for a good twist. Waste of everybody’s time. I don’t see how you can say this is one of your favorite seasons

This is my 4th favorite season not even gonna lie! We all have our different opinions though. Apocalypse was the 14th most watched tv show of the year last year and I think that this season had more viewers so hopefully the continue the series!!!

You should watch Roanoke it’s actually quite good in the second half and Adina Porter and Kathy Bates give fantastic performances.

Enjoyable but safe finale. That also kind of sums up the season. Very middle of the road. When you consider the lack of star power though I suppose that is an achievement – Murphy and co. had to hold everything together themselves for once and they (mostly) achieved that.

Awards wise, Lily Rabe is a Guest Actress must but I’d also be happy with nominations for Finn Wittrock (the perfect person to carry the finale having not appeared) and John Carroll Lynch (the season MVP by a country mile – sorry Leslie Grossman fans).

    B+

Enjoyed the finale for the most part. I don’t know what the context was about with Angelica Ross saying that fans would be disappointed about who the “final girl” ended up being. Is that b/c it was more than one? Brooke surviving kinda made my eyes roll, but it was nothing to make me hate the finale or the entire season. I’m just glad Rita/Donna could make it to the end and subvert the terrible legacy of the horror genre. Just about every plot thread was resolved. Finn Wittrock as Bobby was such a treat! Standouts of the season are the same as always: John Carroll Lynch, Lily Rabe, and Angelica Ross. All absolutely Emmy-worthy for their performances, so I hope they’re properly recognized next year. I think that the only real downside to this season was the lack of star power from the repertory company, and the remaining ensemble not always measuring up. I kept thinking how Sarah Paulson would have played Margaret. Nothing against Leslie Grossman, but yeah. Evan Peters would have thrived here and was probably the first choice over Cody Fern (and Fern should have WON the Emmy for “Versace,” so don’t come for me, bitches). Matthew Morrison, Gus Kenworthy, DeRon Horton, Zach Villa, Dylan McDermott??? All duds. But anyways, I’m glad I stuck it out with this installment. Ready for season 10 and beyond!
