Huston will have an arc for season two of Transparent.September 24, 2015 at 7:42 am #362739
After six nominations Huston remains Emmy-less. I assumed many of you would be happy at the possibility her guest stint on Transparent would change this? Especially because it means adding her to the list of potential triple crown-ers for acting.September 17, 2016 at 6:46 pm #1201923756
Her character is returning for season three. She’ll likely have an even stronger submission episode. Although her sex scene in the last season was shocking enough for me to warrant a nomination and win.September 18, 2016 at 9:33 am #1201923891
Much as I love Huston, I don’t think she’s deserved to triumph on any of her prior nominations.

The TV Academy is generous with previous Oscar winners. Huston has yet to benefit with a win. I’d like her to be recognized for her guest stint on Transparent. A veteran in their 60’s she’s overdue even though I agree none of her previous nominations warranted a win.September 21, 2016 at 8:00 am #1201925852
I really love Huston last season. I think Cherry Jones had the more juicy guest role (that ended up going supporting due to the rules) but I think she deserved a nomination more than Harin, Schumer, and especially Melissa McCarthy (they really are just name checking her at this point her episodes are so lackluster). But I would have still rooted for Amy/Tina to winSeptember 21, 2016 at 9:53 am #1201925895
I’m definitely Team Huston.
She deserves everything.September 21, 2016 at 10:19 am #1201925905
I had Huston down to win in the guest category before the nominations came out and was very disappointed to see her left out this year. It has gotten to the point that the sketch comedy, broad comedy, and dramedy performances are so different, that there really is no fair way to compare them, so all bets are really off year-to-year. I am curious how many episodes will feature Huston and Jones this season (Hardin has already confirmed repeatedly that she will not appear this season), or even if the rules change again next year, but, especially since the Television Academy has been giving overdue actors Cusack, Hamm, Paulson, and Poehler Emmys lately, a win for Huston soon would be nice.September 23, 2016 at 5:21 pm #1201926939
She is KILLER in episode 7. I think I counted 3 episodes she popped up in but I might of missed her at some point. Cherry Jones I think makes the cut off but she doesn’t have the same meaty stuff as last year. Huston definitely stole the show guest actresses wise.September 23, 2016 at 5:32 pm #1201926947
UPDATE: Just checked IMDB and both are in 5 each 🙁September 23, 2016 at 8:02 pm #1201927032
Why didn’t it matter this year in the guest category then? Supporting categories are x6 times more competitive but her biggest obstacle is that there are already far too many great supporting actresses from her own show to compete with in the same category, so I doubt anyone would vote for her over series regulars Light, Hoffmann, Landecker or even Hahn unless she truly has some mind blowing material.
Repeating everyone’s thoughts: They really should change the rule to “%50 or less”September 23, 2016 at 8:10 pm #1201927034
I want to remain optimistic. The Emmys surprise as much as repeat themselves.September 24, 2016 at 7:47 am #1201927114
So, neither Cherry or Anjelica will qualify as a guest next year?
