His/her comment about Chernobyl are 100% correct.

The Oscar needs to get rid of the preferential ballot so it can name a deserving movie as Best Picture again.

“The truth is, I didn’t finish When They See Us because it was so upsetting — Ava [DuVernay] cast it so well, and I cared so much about those kids that I couldn’t take it anymore.”

The thing that is upsetting is that this voter is voting in a category and has not watched all of the nominated series. This is something that I always suspected. Shameful.

The Cherry Jones win sorta proved that.

I think there should be blue ribbon panels for Series categories and Guest categories.

I’ve had Succession winning writing since nominations came out, I knew it wasn’t the frontrunner but I didn’t think it was so controversial. It just seems like the most “writery” show with all the fast dialogue and hilarious banter. And clearly that guy agrees.

“Succession” sweeping writing and directing would be glorious, but “The Iron Throne” is sadly winning something. It’s too big to fail in both. I think DGA winner McKay can pull through. The D&D backlash has to hit somewhere, and will voters want to see those two goons on stage THREE times? All voters can pool to writing in a way that they can’t do in directing, so that’s the way I’ll go with the predictions, I guess.

Did you actually think every voter watches every show in every category they vote in? Some people have jobs lol.

Im not sure why anyone thinks everyone does this.

I wish. But also: that’s unfortunately the by product of bold TV sometimes. He makes a fair point re things being hard to finish. I would give Elisabeth Moss my last dollar, but  I still find THT challenging, TBH

I don’t think everyone watches everything before voting, but it would be nice if the voters did – job or no job. Just remove submissions from the equation for the acting categories and call it the People’s Choice Awards Part Two

Succession is the bomb, though. To win writing over GOT might give it some proper attention. It’s still criminally underrated I’m my opinion

Lol you can’t say job or no job when having a job literally prohibits you from watching a lot of TV. You would have to prioritize watching shows above stuff like sleeping or hanging out with friends or doing literally anything else in order to watch every show nominated. It’s just not realistic, especially when some categories have 7 nominees. I know I definitely haven’t watched every show nominated.

I said it would be nice if everyone watched the submissions.

Sometimes I feel it is a waste of time for submissions if voters do not bother watching them.

Aww this actor voted for Turman, Tyson, Arquette (Dannemora) and Porter. But then also voted for Shaw… because he/she’s always found GOT overrated.

Oscar FYC - Lupita Nyong'o & Elisabeth Moss ("Us") - Best Actress & Supporting Actress. It must happen; otherwise the Tethered are coming.

Some of the things that he/she said:

“A lot of people recommended Bodyguard to me and I liked it a lot but I hate Netflix.”

“I love The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel but I’ll have plenty of more opportunities to vote for it.”

“I didn’t care for “Balderdash” or whatever it was called at all.”

“I knew Gwen Verdon and Michelle is no Gwen Verdon. Working with such an incredible artist there was no way I could vote for Fosse/Verdon at all.”

Of the four guests he/she chosed, only Kirby won.

Somehow the actor managed to be even more frustrating than the producer. Emmy voters make Oscar voters appear so wise.

IKR. I can’t believe people like that get to vote. It’s shameful. Yet people who actually sit down and watch the nominated content get to sit at home and see laziness come to life.
