Well that person indicates that actors respect Sandra Oh a lot but also Christina Applegate so we should watch out for her next year.

That person also mentioned wanting to vote for Marin Hinkle, not Alex Borstein.

Their opinion regarding best drama series is irrelevant, since it seems like they never voted for GoT. Also, they vote for Fiona Shaw in Supporting but she was like their only option, since they hate Netflix and GoT.

The producer says so many truths, I do not agree with everything, I adore Pose, but he has great taste in general and his votes are good, this observation is brilliant: “Sandra Oh is great, but I watch for Jodie Comer, who is gorgeous, pulls off five different languages and has a devilish quality to her that you almost never see except in old movies. She can pull off evilness and then turn around and you don’t hate her, which is so hard.” He is right about Sharp Object, especially about the fact that was so repetitive and annoying.

“I didn’t care for “Balderdash” or whatever it was called at all.”

    I love.

I hope they do not deny Michelle though… I mean, vote for Arquette in supporting where she’s the rightful winner. Unless Joey King upsets Michelle, I don’t wanna see anyone else take it.

“A lot of people recommended Bodyguard to me and I liked it a lot but I hate Netflix.” “I love The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel but I’ll have plenty of more opportunities to vote for it.” “I didn’t care for “Balderdash” or whatever it was called at all.” “I knew Gwen Verdon and Michelle is no Gwen Verdon. Working with such an incredible artist there was no way I could vote for Fosse/Verdon at all.”

I don’t see any issue with those statements, the Netflix thing is just an observation, I am a huge fan of Black Mirror and I did not care at all for Bandersnatch, he/she did not bought Williams in Fosse/Verdon, which is her/his right and the second phrase could not be more accurate, I love many shows/performers the same and sometimes when I vote for awards or in polls, I use other factors to decide since I objectively believe that more than one thing can be equally great. You love to judge, but it will be good if you see what many of you do and SAY here, for me is much more perplexing to read that “Shaw does nothing in Killing Eve” or that “Headey should win based on her career achievements on Thones, because she definitely does not deserve it based on her season or submission”. Also, many of you voted in the GD awards in Drama without having seen Succession, Ozark or Pose, and in Limited without having seen A Very English Scandal, The Act, Dannemora or Fosse/Verdon.

Totally!!! Joey or Michelle. No one else!

The GD awards are not the Emmys, as much as I appreciate them. We don’t get clear instructions before voting that we are supposed to have watched ALL the content; Emmy voters on the other hand do. It is their job to watch as much as they can. You shouldn’t be an Emmy voter if you cannot commit to that. Our very own Tom O’Brien watches every single writing submission (and even episodes that we still recommend) to get a good picture of what is nominated. He then votes on to vote for what he thought was the best writing, not for the show that he liked the most. Now that is what a proper, dedicated, serious voter looks like.

Also, we need to talk about this: “A lot of people are voting for Game of Thrones in various categories.”

Oscar FYC - Lupita Nyong'o & Elisabeth Moss ("Us") - Best Actress & Supporting Actress. It must happen; otherwise the Tethered are coming.

I agree and I love Tom O’Brien. He voted for START, he has taste and good principles. But those two anonymous voters also have that. The second one was speaking like she/he has watched everything. He/she forced herself to watch Bodyguard for example. The first one watched everything with the exception of Pose, because she/he admits that he cannot be objective about Murphy’s show. He did not finished WTSU which, sadly, is understandable, two of my best friends have not finished it yet due to the same reasons. The reality shows… come on, no one is watching all of them. So for some of you to insult the two of them that hard is double standards, in my opinion.

“I knew Gwen Verdon and Michelle is no Gwen Verdon.” Well, we have seen it all at this point, haven’t we? *shrugs*

    It’s almost like she’s acting.

We all have double standards. C’mon. Anyone in this thread really want to hands on heart want to say they don’t? The 100 .”Headey should win for all 8 seasons” voters who also screamed down Jones winning for THT despite Headey having incredibly minimal screentime this year?

Summary of reasons that the actor voted/did not vote for given nominees:

    -Their show is overrated
    -Actor is sweet/nice/personable
    -Actor is a cool person
-Actor might die tomorrow (i.e., they are old/a veteran. In actuality, anyone could potentially die tomorrow)
    -Hates actor’s network/platform
    -Actor had cancer
-Actor is not, in fact, the person they are playing
-Actor is from the same town

None of these are legitimate reasons that anyone should or should not win an Emmy. This person should have their voting privileges revoked and should also be thoroughly shaken until they stop being such a twit.

None of the two voters listed those as their only or even main reasons to vote… Your post is an exaggeration at its best.

Both of the anonymous ballots voted for KE for Drama Series… Maybe it’s stronger than we think?

imo, it only confirms that it’s strong enough to be at no 2, behind GOT. Two ballots are barely any sample. HBO voting block is too strong. GOT power, as TV monumental spectacle is too strong. GOT should win easily. Any other option would be welcomed, but it won’t happen.

Many of the revolving discussion is in the same way how Elisabeth Moss and Sterling K. Brown were certain to win again last year. Most of the time it’s hard to see a change coming before it really occurs.

I don’t agree with this sentiment that screentime is in anyway indicative of the strength of a performance. Beatrice Straight in Network, Viola Davis in Doubt, and I’d even include Regina King in IBSCT, had amazing performances with minimal screentime. Headey had less screentime but still a very worthy performance, which is not the case with Jones. Just look at Peter MacNicol from Veep. He had the same amount of screentime as Jones (maybe even less), yet had an amazing performance and should have won IMO. Most people would agree that his performance was deserving of recognition.
