Seems like a waste of money to put up billboards, banners and bus signs when no one is driving around LA to see them. (and we don’t even know what if any ceremony there will be.)

FYC OSCARS : PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN IN ALL CATEGORIES (ESP. ACTRESS – Carey Mulligan AND ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY — EMERALD FENNELL), VANESSA KIRBY FOR "PIECES OF A WOMAN", ESSIE DAVIS FOR "BABYTEETH"

No. They are not. There are absolutely no FYC events. Plus advertising is at a base minimum, there are no more dvds (that was decided pre-covid) and only streaming links being sent to Emmy voters. It should be very interesting as I think it will really come down to what people decide to actually watch when they have time. Plus, buzz and critics influence could have little influence. The business is in insane upheaval right now as creatives are trying to find a way to make their shows safely. The Emmys may not be at the top of a lot of people’s to do list.

I’d argue Amazon are doing more fyc adds than usual.
