Wow that was an awesome set up for the finale. I lurched forward in my couch at the last scene.

Barry continues to impress me once again. Bill Hader deserves another win for sure, and Henry Winkler might earn another deserved trophy for his even better work this season. Anthony Carrigan, Sarah Goldberg, and Stephen Root would all be worthy nominees. The ending of this episode was more suspenseful than most of what I see out of straight drama series. Barry took a little while to find its footing last year, but now that it has, its proven to be much more than I ever expected

I just put Sarah Goldberg in my predictions for Comedy Supporting Actress. With her past couple of episodes (and a killer monologue that would also put her in a serious position to win), she seems like a someone who would be primed to be nominated for the sophomore season of a show, very much like Zazie Beets was last year for Atlanta.

The only supporting actress in a comedy I believe has a better episode and performance than this episode for Sarah Goldberg is D’Arcy Carden and she has an episode where she plays every character in The Good Place.

Knockout episode after knockout episode. This show is everything! Sally’s monologue had me cackling lmao. This was more of a Sarah Goldberg and Anthony Carrigan episode but whew… that cliffhanger!? Good stuff.

Would it be accurate to say this is the show of the calendar year so far?

It’s second on my list, Fleabag taking the top spot.

Coming from someone who lives in the UK, I can assure you that while Fleabag is great at its best, Barry most definitely eclipses most (if not all) recent British TV.

I LOVED this episode. I hope it wins writing for past nominee Liz Sarnoff. Definitely Sarah Goldberg’s tape, who I have been predicting for some time. Winkler was great too.

I think Bill Hader pretty much secured the Emmy with that one.. Season 2 was outstanding.

I really hope Veep and Maisel split and this season can sneak through to a Series win. Absolutely perfect from start to finish.

This did NOT disappoint. Great finale! I cannot picture any other actor portraying Barry the way Bill Hader does. His facial expressions are perfect every single time. He deserves the Emmy more this time around but I fear he might lose a la Elisabeth Moss and Donald Glover last year who imo were better in their 2nd seasons. But on the one hand there is no competition, unless the Emmys wanna go with Emmy darling & veteran Ted Danson or give Jim Parsons a farewell gift, and on the other hand, they don’t mind repeat winners in the comedy categories especially 2 consecutive wins. I am tempted to predict Stephen Root; people on here are indeed right that he has worked with a lot of people in the industry so it makes sense he’d have some individual support along with the show’s support overall, but he hasn’t striken me yet as Emmy-worthy necessarily, except maybe for that short monologue in last night’s episode talking about people changing shapes and the way he emoted feelings on his face in the scene where he was about to shoot Cousineau as well. The thing is I keep juggling between him and Tituss Burgess and SNL’s Baldwin & Thompson.
