Loved this episode. It’s a great showcase for the entire main cast. Everyone gets their moment to shine, and I loved how they furthered Barry’s growth as an actor.
I’ll be wounded if Michael Douglas does win over Bill Hader. He’s fantastic in this role. Having seen The Marvellous Mrs Maisel – Season 2. And i’m now up to date on Veep. Barry is my personal vote for Comedy Series.May 9, 2019 at 7:53 pm #1202887446
Just wow – this show has me absolutely gripped. I was in the minority of opinion here who loved the first season and I actually didn’t really love the first two episodes of season 2. It had me wondering whether I was just wrong about season 1. But man, episode 3-6 have been intensely dark with episode 5 being totally absurdist and uncomfortably funny. I’m excited to see how this ends.
Someone here mentioned the lavish costumes and set design in Maisel, but part of what I love about Barry is that the show isn’t trying to be flashy. The scenery is commonplace. It knows it’s best moments come from when they just sit the camera on the actor’s face and let them chew up the scene. And the pitch black, moral theorizing just makes it all the more interesting to watch.May 12, 2019 at 9:29 pm #1202891190
Wow that was an awesome set up for the finale. I lurched forward in my couch at the last scene.May 13, 2019 at 3:29 am #1202891528
Sarah Goldberg needs to get nominated like now. Fuck SNL
This ep left me shook.May 13, 2019 at 7:12 am #1202891855
Barry continues to impress me once again. Bill Hader deserves another win for sure, and Henry Winkler might earn another deserved trophy for his even better work this season. Anthony Carrigan, Sarah Goldberg, and Stephen Root would all be worthy nominees. The ending of this episode was more suspenseful than most of what I see out of straight drama series. Barry took a little while to find its footing last year, but now that it has, its proven to be much more than I ever expectedMay 13, 2019 at 8:26 am #1202892015
I just put Sarah Goldberg in my predictions for Comedy Supporting Actress. With her past couple of episodes (and a killer monologue that would also put her in a serious position to win), she seems like a someone who would be primed to be nominated for the sophomore season of a show, very much like Zazie Beets was last year for Atlanta.May 14, 2019 at 12:15 pm #1202893717
The only supporting actress in a comedy I believe has a better episode and performance than this episode for Sarah Goldberg is D’Arcy Carden and she has an episode where she plays every character in The Good Place.May 14, 2019 at 12:17 pm #1202893720
Knockout episode after knockout episode. This show is everything! Sally’s monologue had me cackling lmao. This was more of a Sarah Goldberg and Anthony Carrigan episode but whew… that cliffhanger!? Good stuff.May 15, 2019 at 3:16 pm #1202895460
I absolutely love this show Season 2 has been pretty incredible Bill Hader is coming for Actor and Directing and Sarah Goldberg would make a pretty great winner too.May 15, 2019 at 3:29 pm #1202895472
Would it be accurate to say this is the show of the calendar year so far?May 18, 2019 at 8:45 am #1202898658
I LOVED this episode. I hope it wins writing for past nominee Liz Sarnoff. Definitely Sarah Goldberg’s tape, who I have been predicting for some time. Winkler was great too.May 19, 2019 at 8:24 pm #1202900375
I think Bill Hader pretty much secured the Emmy with that one.. Season 2 was outstanding.
