    Breaking news from Variety:
    https://wp.me/p2WgDE-1jpiTU

In a joint statement, Warner Bros. Television, CBS and Chuck Lorre Productions said, “We are forever grateful to our fans for their support of The Big Bang Theory during the past twelve seasons. We, along with the cast, writers and crew, are extremely appreciative of the show’s success and aim to deliver a final season, and series finale, that will bring The Big Bang Theory to an epic creative close.”

Definitely doesn’t surprise me. The show’s been on long enough.

I’m kind of surprised, I thought they’d keep milking this thing through at least a 14th or 15th season. Maybe the actors are all just ready to move on, but I doubt any of them will get making the money they make on tbbt.

How many years until the revival?

This is mildly surprising. The show was the highest rated TV program last season. I thought it would end when the ratings would go to shit. With that being said, TBBT probably shouid’ve ended a while ago.

It was never going to go to the bad ratings place.

And this is already 2 more seasons than Friends.

I love that this show is finally ending. Yes, it is past its prime, but the fact the writers are putting an end to it should be appreciated, since The Big Bang Theory certainly had the potential to become the live-action version of The Simpsons, going on for well over 20 Seasons due to ratings never tanking. Speaking of The Simpsons, TAKE A HINT FROM CHUCK LORRE PEOPLE! MOVE. ON. PLEASE.

I don’t think I will be able to resist watching the series finale when it airs.

More: Jim Parsons wanted out, so that’s why BBT is ending:

CBS and Warner Bros. TV made the decision to end The Big Bang Theory in 2019 because star Jim Parsons was ready to walk away from the hit sitcom, EW has learned exclusively.

With a reported salary near $1 million per episode, Parsons — along with his four original costars Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, Kunal Nayyar, and Simon Helberg — stood to make more than $50m including profits if he agreed to stay on TBBT for two more years, which is what CBS was trying to negotiate.

But Parsons was ready to say goodbye to the ensemble sitcom that made him a household name. Since there is no show without Dr. Sheldon Cooper, next spring’s 12th season finale will mark the end of the longest-running multi-camera series in TV history.

If he wants to leave TBBT, why is he still on Young Sheldon?

This exclusive source is sometimes illogical

Young Sheldon isn’t The Big Bang Theory. Narrating that show doesn’t take up nearly as much of his time as working on TBBT does.

The show is ending after so many years and CBS does not have a successor in spite of their efforts. It could be a while before they win the season in viewers again.

I always respect a show that has the balls to go out on top and doesn’t just linger. *coughModernFamilycough*

Really? As if narrating a show and starring on a show are the same thing?

This show should’ve ended 3-5 years ago. At least everybody involved can say they ended while still being the most succesful sitcom out there and collecting the biggest tv paycheck. Something nobody has said since Friends (probably not) or Seinfed or even older shows than those two. That definitely does NOT happen these days. And it lauched a successful spinoff. This show continued to defy expectation since season 2 all the way to the end 10 seasons later.

Congrats on all the sucess and those huge paychecks but seriously…should’ve ended many years ago.

The only question left is: when the fuck is Supernatural going to end?
