I have so much to say, but first and foremost: MYSTERY OF LOVE!!!

Meryl, Reese, and Nicole just nailed it, wow. That scene between Madeline and her daughter was just utterly fantastic; will Witherspoon finally get some credit?

Oscar FYC - Lupita Nyong'o & Elisabeth Moss ("Us") - Best Actress & Supporting Actress. It must happen; otherwise the Tethered are coming.

I have a feeling there’ll be another death this season and it’s gonna be Mary Louise that’ll pull the trigger.

I loved that they used the song but that scene was so cheesy

So about the direction, it was great but nowhere near the level of Vallée’s direction. My main problem was that Arnold tried too hard to recreate Vallée’s style; either it has to be exactly like his or completely different IMO. I can’t point to what exactly makes hers different, but it was certainly bothering me a bit.

This season feels very different, as it should though, since we’re now dealing with the aftermath of some of their lies, and Perry’s death of course.

Meryl Streep fully proved why she’s won boatload of awards and is considered the greatest living actress of her generation.

Reese was great too, but something about her delivery so far is lacking; I feel like Madeline isn’t as nucanced or likable as she was last year. and Bonnie is a real downer. Even though this is a dark show i hope to see it maintain some of its sense of humor.

and let’s all agree, Meryl’s character Mary Louise is fully going to murder somebody right? Probably Celeste or Madeline. Maybe Jane.

    Bonnie is a real downer.

I actually really loved that part of her character though. Here’s four (three of whom I don’t recall her ever interacting with on-screen prior to the death of Perry).

She’s now trapped in this situation forever (who are essentially strangers to her). I felt this aspect was strongly shown when she and Madeleine spoke at her house and the way she responds with “It sure doesn’t feel that way” when MMM asks her when she wasn’t spoken about it to them.

I can see her going through a tell tale heart until she just cracks.

I still remember when some GD members were mocking others for predicting CMBYN for oscar nominations during the summer before the precursors and critics and said it was a GD exclusive movie that would have no impact and wont get any nominations.

Great premiere. It’s very good to be back in this world. Meryl Streep already enter the competition. But the real MVP for me: Reese.

I feel like Zoe Kravitz is coming for that Emmy nod as well next year. She really shocked me in the premiere.

I loved the premiere. Nicole, Meryl, Zoey and Reese killed it. The things that are going with Madeline and her daughter are giving me Lori Loughlin vibes, and I can’t the only one. I’ll be very shocked in Mary Louise doesn’t kill someone by the time the season’s done.
