For the longest time, you had the Emmy winner that wasn’t predicted by Goldderby odds or maybe worse actually was, but for whatever reason during the last day or last couple days you made a switch to someone else that now haunts you to some extent. For me, that is going from Peter Dinklage to David Harbour, it will take a while for me to move on from that fail.

Who or what are your biggest last-minute Emmy winner switches you still regret?

Note to myself: Don’t ever feed the trolls. Don’t get involved in others drama. Don’t let myself be swayed by others predictions, trust my gut more often!

Note to all others: If you don’t happen to like me, ignore me. It is that simple.

I had Game of Thrones for Series, but switched because of The Handmaid’s Tale being “relevant” and considered a political statement. I also had Mrs. Maisel winning both writing and directing, but went with Murai because of other users predicting him over Sherman-Palladino.

The day of the ceremony, I wanted to predict Foy, mainly because I had a similar feeling with Winkler and Letitia Wright on the day of nominations. However, I decided to play it safe and went with Moss.

    -JCS in Directing

I was predicting these winner until the final day: Merrit Wener, Maisel for directing, Thandie Newton, The Crown for directing, The Americans for writting. Winners that almost predicted but was too scared: Bill Hader, Regina King, Maisel for series.

You weren’t a fool for predicting JCS at least. I had that winning too, it made total sense in my mind both as an “apple in the bag of oranges” kind of thing, JCS over-performing in major Emmy nominations overall, and it even got a surprise Casting nod. After Godless under-performed according to many at Creative Arts, Twin Peaks’ shutout at Creative Arts and Limited Series snub, and Ryan Murphy having only directed 1 episode of Versace and being the only nominee for that show, JCS seemed practically a default winner from what I could tell. Don’t feel bad at all about having gotten that one wrong, if it had won we would both be patting ourselves on our back and rightfully gloating. It was a sensible call that just didn’t pay off.

Since I got so many things wrong in my predictions I don’t even remember what things I’ve switched haha… one thing I remember though is switching from Maisel to Atlanta in Comedy Series I think, which was a bad call.

As for Game of Thrones I definitely over predicted it but I don’t regret it not even a little bit, will do the same next year until the last moment.

I had Maisel literally until the day before when I switched to Atlanta. On the flip side, I changed from Moss to Foy that day to so win some you lose some

I had Alex Borstein predicted for the win since January, then switched to Kate McKinnon after the Creative Arts. My initial post-nomination predictions were actually much better than my final predictions, as I switched away from Jeff Daniels and Henry Winkler in August. It turns out that all of the changes that I made were overthinking things.
