ReplyCopy URLJuly 16, 2019 at 11:18 am #1202978737Mines a short list. I may add as I see fit:
Pamela Adlon
D’Arcy Carden
Stephan James
Richard Madden
Julia RobertsI’m especially upset over the Adlon snub.

Edited because how the fuck did I forget D’Arcy Carden!?July 16, 2019 at 11:20 am #1202978746Eliza Scanlen, hands down. The woman gave the best supporting performance in a Limited Series this cycle and she was snubbed. Absolutely disgraceful.

July 16, 2019 at 11:37 am #1202978856Richard Madden, Eliza Scanlen, Bobby Cannavale, D’Arcy Carden, Tituss Burgess, MJ Rodriguez and all things The Haunting of Hill House.
ReplyCopy URLJuly 16, 2019 at 11:40 am #1202978868Homecoming, Julia Roberts, Richard Madden, Keeley Hawes, Emma Stone, Veep in directing, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel in writing, Pose in writing and directing (especially for Ryan Murphy), Tituss Burgess, D’Arcy Carden, Pamela Adlon, Eliza Scanlen, GLOW, Alison Brie.
These weren’t predicted but also hurt me: The Haunting of Hill House (in general), Forever (in general), Sharp Objects in directing, Homecoming in directing, Sarah Paulson, Frances Conroy, Joan Collins, Andrew Scott, Bodyguard in directing, Maniac in technical categories, The OA (in general).
ReplyCopy URLJuly 16, 2019 at 11:42 am #1202978876Susan Kelechi Watson is baffling because of how well This Is Us did with nominations in Guest Actor X 2, Guest Actress, Supporting Actor, Lead Actor x 2, and Lead Actress.
ReplyCopy URLJuly 16, 2019 at 11:47 am #1202978895I will forever drag and hunt down the Emmys for snubbing Scanlen.
But anyways, the other ones I’m not okay with are: Pamela Adlon (Better Things), Richard Madden (Bodyguard), Janet McTeer (Ozark), Issa Rae (Insecure, even though I saw it coming), Timothy Simons (Veep), and Milk in Writing for Sharp Objects (as well as directing).

Also got banned because...reasons? So, I guess ciao.
July 16, 2019 at 12:04 pm #1202978955I didn’t take Scanlen as a prediction seriously as I figured the Emmy snobbery would strike again, but there is no excuses now with Joey King&Jharrel Jerome(in lead, no less) and Asante Blackk as nominees. The one Emmy rule that never changes is that recency is always a plus.
And Slap the Stud… Madden would have gotten in with a stronger show but Sullivan over Hartley will always be teached as the prime example of this theory in the future Emmy classes. Harington must have gotten Jon Snow pity votes like @kellis suggested even though I never would have predicted it. I am now apparently too old and conservative to be predicting the Emmys. I should either retire or go back to predicting the Oscars.
ReplyCopy URLJuly 16, 2019 at 12:39 pm #1202979146Madden, Adlon, and Scott. The first two are understandable to an extent but Fleabag got 5 acting nominations so how the hell Andrew Scott isn’t one of them?
