This seems like it’s more of a teen drama angle than a prestige series, which I think it’ll do well as. Probably won’t compete for major awards, but I actually thought the trailer looked fun

Watched the first episode last week! Netflix gave us the first four episodes at the start of September, then the remaining four a couple of weeks ago. Feature coverage embargo lifts November 1st.

    its only 8 episodes?!?!
it won’t flop Bc the books have a big following

They released a new trailer and it looks much better than the first teaser. They remembered to show couple shirtless shots of the lead guy, which was smart.

Is no one watching this? I only had time for one episode, but it was quite a delight. The story is predictable but fun, the cast is great (and gorgeous) and you can tell they had a big budget. Visuals are top-notch.

I also saw the first one.
I’m in! Guilty pleasure we deserve this Christmas. Unlike Murphy, Shonda strikes with her first Netflix project..

I saw the first two episodes and plan to watch the rest. I liked what I’ve seen so far. It’s at least not cringey which I expected it to be.

    I binged this last night.
“Diamond of the First Water”: A
    “Shock and Delight”: B
    “Art of the Swoon”: B+
    “An Affair of Honor”: B+
    “The Duke and I”: B+
    “Swish”: B+
    “Oceans Apart”: A
    “After The Rain”: A

This was predictable but I couldn’t help but like it. It definately was a pleasant surprise

I watched 2 episodes last night and I’m debating whether or not the golden globes will go for it. I thought episode 2 was stronger than the pilot.

Again haven’t started it yet but I see no reason for why they shouldn’t. It seems like an acclaimed guilty pleasure and it’s Shonda Rhimes’ first show as a part of her highly anticipated Netflix deal. It also is acclaimed.

I feel like Dynevor could knock Balfe out in Actress.

FYC Emmys: "The Crown" in all categories, "I May Destroy You" in all categories, "It's a Sin" in all categories, "Small Axe" in all categories, Billie Piper ("I Hate Suzie"), Yvonne Strahovski ("Stateless") and Ruth Wilson ("His Dark Materials")

Yes, that’s what I’m thinking too. Also a quick twitter search of her name and HFPA made me realize she campaigns and attends events every year, and such things to help her get nominated aren’t possible this year (although she could still send christmas cards lol)

I’m on third one. I’m enjoying it but I’m not going “I need to watch next episode immediately.”
I was expecting to be more soapy.
I have to say the strongest part of show is the cast. I can’t think of a weak link. However , my fav is the Queen Bc she is so out there.

God, up to episode 5 already, it’s no Downton Abbey but it’s for sure entertaining.

Also, Julie Andrews is winning an Emmy for this, no doubt
