If Famke Janssen scored a nod, I’d be over the moon, but that isn’t happening. And I’ll admit I’m biased because she was robbed for HTGAWM in S2 – at least Gold Derby nominated her.

Oscar FYC - Lupita Nyong'o & Elisabeth Moss ("Us") - Best Actress & Supporting Actress. It must happen; otherwise the Tethered are coming.

Just finished this. Fuck, I don’t recall the last time I felt so emotionally wrecked by a show. This was depressing, and upsetting, and infuriating, but also necessary viewing. We have our Miniseries winner guys, and it’s astonishing that it is not even in the top 5 in the predictions.

I feel so mad at Huffman for what she did, because she was absolutely stellar in this and would have been a lock of a nomination. I hope she is able to salvage her career because she is too damn talented.

Vera Farmiga is easily getting nominated and does more than enough in episode 2 to justify it. Michael Kenneth Williams is getting in as well. I am not so sure about John Leguizamo since he really doesn’t do all that much and doesn’t get any big moment to stand out. I might slot him in later though, he did get in for Waco.

For me, the acting standouts were Jharrel Jerome and Neicy Nash. Jerome was so fucking good, what an amazing breakthrough performance, and he has EARNED his nomination. His performance in episode 4 is possibly the best performance by any contender in his category, and depending on how the show performs with nominations, I might even predict him to win!

I don’t understand why Nash is in Lead when she would have probably won supporting, but I’ll still predict her in lead. Mostly because, besides being a past Emmy nominee that is loved in the industry and has worked with everyone, she is playing so out of type here that she automatically stands out. Also, this is a high-priority show that the Academy will definitely be watching and she is fucking good in it – SPOILER – the scene where she throws out her Trans daughter is so fucking heartbreaking. She is stellar!

That scene when Nash is yelling at her child about his gender was just wow.

I’m so mad Famke didn’t get enough to do. She was excellent in those final scenes op ep 4…who knows if voters love that episode specifically she can coattail.. I mean Limited Supporting Actress is kinda barren after Arquette, Clarkson and Farmiga.

No way Sally Field gets in for Maniac..she has like one standout scene in eps 8 & 9 and I don’t think Maniac is a priority for The Academy

No way Ejogo gets nominated. Her weird American accent on True Detective was off-putting and she didn’t do anything to justify a nom (although I’d be here for a make up nom for her stellar work in The Girlfriend Experience two years ago)

I don’t see Emily Watson getting in.

So yeah, Famke is a possibility because of the buzzy ep 4 and a barren category.

I’ve watched episode 4 and it was indeed very good and Jharrel Jerome performance was really great. Overall it was a great mini series and I’m all in for it getting the awards and praise it deserves.

However, why the talks about Famke Janssen when she is doing, the bare mininum? Not saying she is bad or anything. I could say the same about Vera Farminga, she didn’t impress me. The one who could be deserving of a nomination is Felicity Huffman but she is not happening for obvious reasons.

Niecy Nash really should have been in supporting but I think she will still score a nomination in lead actress.

Not only is Watson not missing, she’s 3rd with a chance to win after Clarkson (Sharp Objects falling by the day) and Arquette (her vote may split, questionable how much support The Act will get). She could be a way of honoring Chernobyl if it loses most of the other categories.

I don’t think Farmiga can win because she plays the villain and it’s not a winking villain. Nash could have won this category.

I apologize. I spoke too soon. And yes. Chernobyl will be a big player. I haven’t started the show yet, but online folk convinced me to add her to my predictions.

Give this all of the Emmys now!

This is a career best for Ava DuVernay. She really deserves recognition. As does the cast.

Niecy Nash is next level amazing. She’s always been a Queen. But this series has elevated her dramatic skills. I’d personally submit her performance into Supporting. But a nomination is a nomination regardless.

OT: Freddy Miyares is HOT! Please put him in more series & movies!

Jharrel Jerome is AMAZING! Episode 4 should secure him a nod at least. I’d give him a win tbh. He’s a revelation. So heartbreaking. So emotional. So memorable.

I want to die.. the last episode was the biggest gut punch ever Jharrel Jerome is coming for that Emmy Michael Kenneth Williams is so underrated too.

Just finished it. Cried throughout most of part 4. I hope Actors can breakthrough but there needs to be specific pushes since it’s such a large ensemble. My standouts obviously Jharrel Jerome and Niecy Nash and so hopefully that will work out.

Vera Farming surprised me and I felt like I didn’t recognize her as an actress and I think she could score a nomination. Otherwise Maybe Marsha Stephanie Blake or Aunjanue Ellis. I also loved Kylie Bunberry and hope to see more from her again.

Michael K Williams seems like he best male push as opposed to any of the kids or adult versions of the five. Maybe John Leguizamo.

The Felicity Huffman angle is interesting ….. totally worked that if you don’t like her cause of the college admissions stuff it helps make you hate the character even more ….

Any ideas??? What should Netflix push??

Jharrel Jerome and Niecy Nash are sooooo good in part four. Korey’s story is devastating. If Nash was campaigned supporting, I would be predicting her immediately.

Niecy Nash was definitely great, but she was not Lead at all. She should have been placed in supporting. Not sure why Lead was the choice for her.

Jharrel Jerome is the only true lead since he had the standalone episode and was the only actor of the Central Park 5 to play the younger and older versions of his character throughout the series. Everybody else is basically supporting.
