React to the 2017 Emmy nominations in the COMEDY categories here. The best, most interesting reactions might be featured in one of our home page articles on Thursday.July 12, 2017 at 1:04 pm #1202149299
“Wow! Great nominations for comedy! I can’t believe the Emmys picked so may inspired picks. I love the love for One Ay at a Time, Fleabag, Dear White People and Shameless. And I’m so glad Veep deservedly underperformed and that the voters weren’t lazy by namechecking it. Such great nominations!”
“Fuck this. Veep is gonna win again. Laziest nominations ever. Big Bang theory and Modern Family? Ugh. Of course they snubbed the best like Issa Rae and Aziz Ansari. And I’m pissed that Angela Basset couldn’t get in. Of course they snubbed the best shows like Search Party, Dear White People, Fleabag, One Day at a time and Shameless. Fuck this.”
I am going to copy and paste one of these, a few edits of course, but which one will it be. Hopefully leaning towards the first.July 12, 2017 at 1:31 pm #1202149314
I sincerely think Fleabag has a real shot to get nominated, I have it in Lead Actress and writing, I’m not sure about Series. Veep will most likely overperform with multiple nominations.July 12, 2017 at 6:30 pm #1202149527

Please, please, please, ATAS, for the love of all that is good and just, do NOT throw away an Emmy nomination on somebody whose season was just SIX fvcking episodes. You’ve got more important things to do than to give a nomination to the most overrated actress on TV, or the show that is seen by the least amount of people.
There’s a 12-year snub that needs correcting tomorrow. Year after year, the Emmys have screwed over Kristen Bell, be it for Veronica Mars, Heroes, Party Down, and House of Lies. But you dare snub her for her best role yet, The Good Place and you forfeit calling yourselves the final arbiter of TV quality. It’s that simple.
“Let’s be honest: Kristen Bell deserved an Emmy nom for Veronica Mars and should get one for The Good Place.”
“The nominees will be…
Kristen Bell, The Good Place
Allison Janney, Mom
Ellie Kemper, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Veep
Issa Rae, Insecure
Tracee Ellis Ross, black-ish”
2. Modern Family
4. The Good Place
6. Master Of None
LEAD ACTRESS – COMEDY
1. Kristen Bell, The Good Place
2. Lily Tomlin, Grace and Frankie
3. Ellie Kemper, The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
4. Tracee Ellis Ross, Black-ish
5. Issa Rae, Insecure
6. Michaela Watkins, Casual
7. Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Veep
They know the score, Emmy. Now it’s up to YOU.July 12, 2017 at 6:43 pm #1202149532
Personally rooting for Trial & Error, Master of None, Atlanta, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia to get as many nominations as possible. Personally rooting for John Lithgow, Kristen Bell, D’Arcy Carden (who deserves a win), Jenifer Lewis, Glenn Howerton and a Directing mom for Sunny, and finally Zach Woods who should win as well for supporting actor.July 12, 2017 at 11:45 pm #1202149736
