I know this is a classy board, but I feel it’s somewhat (minuscule level) relevant since I’ve seen several posters discuss quite recently how excellent and underrated she was on Glee and Scream Queens…what the HELL do you make about this Lea Michele drama? I’ve been a huge fan of her work for years and was hoping she would return to Scream Queens if Murphy brings it to Netflix and get her the Emmy she deserved.

Of course this will all die down and people will move on very quickly, but man there are so many wild accounts of her alleged behaviour. She was always a rumoured diva, but some of these stories are making her sound like a full blown sociopath. Threatening to defecate in wigs, demanding people be fired, stamping on a background artists foot and burping loudly in her face? It’s simultaneously hilarious and mind boggling if she was actually doing this to people for years.

Lea Michele’s been known as a huge diva for years amongst people that follow Broadway gossip. She’s the real-life Jenna Maroney.

I can totally hear her say,
“Listen up fives, a ten is speaking!”
    “Actor announcement!”
“A baby? Someone’s gonna get more attention than me!”
“I will drop a d in my dressing room! You thought I was crying wolf last time, didn’t cha?”

I thought her work was underrated on both shows and that she deserved Emmy nominations for both of them (and one win for Glee) however there is not denying how severe these allegations are. They’re not severe because of her status or because of how it will impact her career but the fact that both systemic and open racism and discrimination was operating behind the scenes on of the world’s biggest shows at the time without any repercussions for the aggressor. I feel bad for Sammie Ware, Amber Riley and all the Glee cast members who had to put with it (no wonder Amber Riley started dipping in and out after season 3, I feel like she was channeling how Lea made her feel on set into her performance in the season 6 episode ‘2009‘).

I think Lea’s career is finished and I guess she deserves to see her bridges burn. She hasn’t expressed any forgiveness and seems to be too embarrassed to properly address the rumours.  Whist I still think she deserved more nominations for Glee and Scream Queens my view that it was ludicrous that her, Colfer, Lynch, Chenoweth, Paltrow, O’Malley and Marie-Jones didn’t win once (or more in some of their cases) has change to it being ludicrous that Colfer, Lynch, Chenoweth, Paltrow, O’Malley and Marie-Jones didn’t win once (or more in some of their cases).

This. Her behaviour is likely the reason she’s only had two notable acting role since Glee (and one of them was another Ryan Murphy), for someone of her fame and association with theatre, I find it telling how she’s never at any of the “Broadway for” charity events.

There’s a 20-page thread on ATRL that discusses Surviving R. Berry live as it was happening.

It is glorious and deserves a Pulitzer.

Do people really think Kristen Wiig could be nominated for Guest for doing absolutely nothing?

I never liked Michelle. Neither as an actress or person. Both her performances and public persona feel fake and forced. I had heard rumors that she was a jerk, but I had no idea that she was so abusive. Her career was already in a state of inaction before this, so I think it’s pretty much dead right now. Now it makes sense that Ryan Murphy went from having her as his muse to doing zero work with her these past couple of years.

Knowing what I know about her now, it’s hard to believe someone as friendly and likable as Jonathon Groff is her best friend.

Welp I guess her chances on an Emmy nod for Same Time, Next Christmas are now dead.

I’m asking myself if we are not overestimating Schitt’s Creek and if it’s not a GD thing. Sure, it’s coming back with at least the same amount of nominations it received last year, but I’m wondering how many more nominations it will receive.

    Just finished Space Force.

If I didn’t have 100/1 odds on Carell, the show would be out of my predictions entirely. The most bland and unforgettable thing I’ve seen in a while. I wouldn’t be so harsh if I didn’t know that everyone involved could do so much better.

Though keep tabs on the name Tawny Newsome. I loved her, she really breathed so much life, warmth, and energy into an inconsistently written character. She’s gonna be a star, just you wait.

Don’t see why Michele’s actions should change the fact that I thought she was Emmy worthy for both Glee and Scream Queens at differing points in their runs. Just because we have it confirmed that she’s the diva we always knew she was doesn’t change how great those performances were. I guess the only difference is that I’m now not rooting for her to get any make-up nods/wins in the future.

Also, as much as it probably should be, I don’t think it’s a career ended for her. The fact that Amber Riley has come forward and said she wasn’t racist just awful has probably saved her as it stops her being completely unhirable. It does mean she’s gonna have to give up on being Elphaba in the wicked movie though lol
