What industry support Ramy and The Great received? Sex Education on the other hand received support from the industry (the british industry, yes, but still industry). Also Sex Education has plenty of buzz. More than all 3 shows you mentioned.

Sex Education got Gatwa in at the BAFTAs I’ll admit that but don’t forget Anderson got snubbed there and so did the show in Writing.

I don’t see how you can blame Ramy and The Great for not receiving a sufficient amount of industry support yet considering their seasons literally came out this May. I mean the fact that Ramy got a nom to TCA and The Great got 2 TCA noms whilst Sex Education got 0 is pretty telling about which of the three has the least buzz right now.

FYC Emmys : Jodie Comer ("Killing Eve"), Ruth Wilson ("His Dark Materials"), Russell Tovery ("Years and Years"), Helena Bonham Carter ("The Crown") & The Crown, His Dark Materials, Years and Years, Succession and The Affair in all categories. The Politician : Ben Platt, Gwyneth Paltrow, Bette Midler and Judith Light.

Tituss Burgess, a 4 time nominee for the role. I don’t even know what show Gossett and Adepo are on, Ill have to google it

A 4 time nominee on the Comedy side who got dropped last year…

Also I am pretty sure considering how many times you say Unbelievable is going to dominate the Limited categories on the Limited/Movie side that you know that both Gossett and Adepo are on Watchmen (a show that is far likelier than Quiz (which sadly no one in America watched) to explode on nominations day).

What industry support Ramy and The Great received?

Ramy Youssef has so many famous followers on Twitter, I’m sure at least one of them watches the show. For The Great, Mike Schur has recently tweeted how much he liked the show.

that just couldn’t be less true.

The problem, I guess, is that the industry (the american industry at least) doesn’t seem to know or care enough about Sex Education

I’m not confident in Carden getting in seems she’s been snubbed too many times.

If you think Anderson is solidly ahead of Carden because the latter has been snubbed before then you shouldn’t be predicting Emily Hampshire above Kate McKinnon or Annie Murphy above any of the Mrs Maisel ladies.

Their show just broke through last year and it’s SAG ensemble nod shows stronger support amongst actors than anything The Good Place has ever got.

But they got Danson and Rudolph in the previous year.

Rothwell cracked me up and deserves but the show isn’t strong enough to get her in.

4×06 had me bawling every time she was on screen.

But they also broke through into Series and Writing.

The point is I don’t see how Carden’s snubs can be used against her when we’re in a different playing field than last year. I mean Gillian Anderson failed to get a nomination at the BAFTAs where Sex Education competed in Comedy so to me that says everything (and I’m really not biased here because I actually liked Anderson’s work more than Carden’s).

Their show just broke through last year and it’s SAG ensemble nod shows stronger support amongst actors than anything The Good Place has ever got.

This is a good point. Although what worries me is the fact that we’re all forgetting that Eugene Levy got snubbed at SAG in favour of Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin (who I think we’re underestimating).

I think more here than in drama, this year is network TV’s Little Big Horn; its lone broadcast shining light looking like the 7th Cavalry vs. all those streaming shows seeking to finish the Big Four off once and for all from Emmy competition. It’s only a matter of how entrenched the bias of the membership against broadcast TV is at the moment. Will it be more of the same; continued streaming dominance, or will the departing broadcast comedy get the full share of credit it deserves instead of the microscopic crumbs it’s gotten the past 2 years?

Two weeks from tomorrow, we find out.

Last year’s comedy series winner was from broadcast and this year’s frontrunner is also from broadcast.

Both were from streaming services, not broadcast network. But you both already knew that. There is a profound difference.

I am British and I didn’t know that the BBC had been abolished and turned into a streaming service.
