Scarlett’s buzzy films came out like eight or nine months ago, while Thompson’s released right around voting. Also her episode was the worst one of the season, so I doubt she’s in.

Yes but they’ve stayed in the conversation since due to awards.

I’m not saying she’s definitely happening but don’t forget SNL has dominated this category in the past. If people are expecting Kenan Thompson I don’t see why SNL can’t get a second Guest Actress in.

Then again there’s Maya Rudolph (for SNL) who I might take ScarJo out for.

FYC Emmys : THE MARVELOUS MRS. MAISEL, SUCCESSION AND THE CROWN IN ALL CATEGORIES. Tony Shalhoub ("Maisel"), Cate Blanchett ("Mrs. America"), Matthew Macfadyen, Jeremy Strong, Sarah Snook ("Succession"), Tracey Ullman ("Mrs. America") and Louis Gossett Jr. ("Watchmen")

ScarJo’s three buzzy films were all Oscar nominated, one of them became the highest grossing film of all time, the other two still managed penetrated the culture, both won above-the-line Oscars, nominated for Best Picture and she herself got double nominations for them.

And if covid hadn’t happen, she would’ve been promoting Black Widow right now, her final outing as the character.

She’s also a member of the five timers club at SNL now, and is dating one of the head writers.

Her situation couldn’t be more different than Thompson’s last year.

They never go for mainstream Hollywood starlets when they host though.

They go for former cast members and other assorted funny ladies.

As I said, her films came out a long time ago, I highly doubt somebody will name check because of work that came out months, or even an entire year ago.

Also, Black Widow and five timer’s club are mute points. Sure, Black Widow coming out would’ve kept her relevant right now, but it didn’t, so she’s not. And plenty of people in the five timer’s club haven’t been nominated.

PWB and Rudolph will get in long before Scarlett does. At least people actually liked their work this season. Scarlett’s episode was just a mess and there was nothing remotely worthy about her work (outside of rejecting Pete Davidson’s hug).

Alex Borstein is a sure-fire win for “Maisel”. While each season of “Maisel” keeps getting worse and worse, Borstein’s performance keeps getting stronger and stronger. (Hopefully, her nomination episode is the one where Rachel teaches her how to swim because that is Emmy’s bait if I’ve ever seen it). The only person who has a chance of beating her is Annie Murphy. Her performance CARRIED the final season of “Schitt’s Creek” and deserves so much more attention than she is receiving. If she somehow wins, that’s the indicator that “Schitt’s Creek” will 100% sweep the ceremony.

I know this is random as hell but I think Lil Dicky will get nominated for Dave in either Comedy Series or Comedy Actor.

Can anyone explain why they are predicting Dan Levy to win over Tony Shalhoub who just won SAG for the second time in a row for a supporting role… Makes very little sense to me.

No Drama or Comedy series has EVER swept the main ceremony, Schitt’s Creek is definitely not going to be the first.

I just can’t stop thinking that Betty Gilpin should have won for GLOW in 2018 over Alex Borstein

I don’t think Kudrow is happening unless TGP has an over performance (also didn’t she literally miss for both Grace and Frankie and Avenue 5?).

Avenue 5 came out this year, so she could not have missed for it yet. But she is not even in that show. She is in Space Force, but that show also only came out just recently. Plus she is supporting in it.

Kudrow missed for Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt too

I’ll explain my prediction. I am predicting 4 Maisel actors to get in, and after seeing the third season, I can’t see how Brown, McCrane, and even Zegen don’t take away votes from Shalhoub.

I don’t think Reid or Elliot are going to take any votes away from Levy, especially since I believe votes will only be voting for Maisel’s third season (they have been watching and rewarding the show for its past seasons) but will be voting for all of Schitt’s Creek’s seasons (most of them have just discovered the show).

Kudrow missed for Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt too

She also missed on what should’ve been an easy nominee for Scandal
