Suprised there wasn’t a thread for this. The pilot of the JK Simmons Starz veichle has been available for a while. It has a 76 on metacritic. Will Simmons’ star power be enough to finally get Emmy attention for Starz?

This was boring and the writing was terrible. The characters actions barely made sense. JK Simmons was fine I guess. It was hard to stay awake during the whole hour. Way too long. I’m shocked it got good reviews.

Rough thread!  I liked the premiere, it was entertaining enough.  Obviously it’s a JK Simmons showcase more than anything, and he was really good.   These crazy plot mechanics, potentially could be good in the right hands, or also the whole plot could fall to pieces really quick.  Giving it a chance.

The second season is premiering this December and since the first season also aired this year, how will they compete at the Globes? The pilot aired in December last year (but I don’t think the season was eligible) with the remaining episodes continuing from January. Zero awards strategy.

^lol, I guess they don’t even care. I guess the first season and 1-2 episodes of the second season will be the eligible part? Either way, its only shot is at Actor for JK, so it’s not like it’s losing much of momentum, since he’s not that strong of a contender, but he definitely could get nominated.
