I’ve been a casting associate for a few years now and I can say Game of Thrones beating Succession and Pose in casting is a joke. Fleabag deserved the win.

Honey, I am sick and tired of mediocre white people winning.

Just because you don’t like them doesn’t mean they aren’t extremely talented. Their roles may not be your cup of tea, but there is nothing mediocre about the actors that portray them.

So, on another note, Fleabag is sweeping on Sunday?

Out of curiosity, do you know any Emmy voters who voted in the casting category?

Jones’ response is great. I actually like her acting in a lot of things I’ve seen her in. Her win tonight is just a by-product of the weird desire for THT to campaign these hanging episodes (after initially deciding not to), and the loophole remaining wide open. I guess I’m just annoyed that it actually worked.

    For Your Consideration:

Best International Feature: Instinct (The Netherlands)
Best Actress: Carice van Houten (Instinct)

Eliminate any hanging episodes from here on out. That’s one way to improve things.

Nah, they should let hanging episodes compete in all categories. It’d have been super fun to see Handmaid’s Tale nominated in Drama Series, Drama Actress, Drama Supporting Actress, and Drama Supporting Actor with its 3 episodes.

Them placing all the guest categories in the second half makes me nervous, I feel like they really are gonna pull some weird shit like snubbing Carice and awarding Shaw.

I would say that I was only half-right, but Shaw is probably winning next week so I guess I have ESP for shitty Emmys choices!

Well, casting and editing are still very important wins.

Well, if nothing changes about the amount of screen time – then we should see who gets nominated for Guest Acting categories and if performances with 1 to 2 minutes are nominated, then riot and see what happens

But jokes aside, in terms of next Sunday:

-It’s still WTSU vs Chernobyl for Limited. All WTSU needed was Casting, but Chernobyl winning Production Design over GOT is only one example of how strong it is with the tech branch. WTSU can still win with acting support, and Chernobyl can win with tech/other support.

-Maisel vs Fleabag for Series, I think we all underestimated Maisel’s staying strength with the acting branch so it’ll clean up there but Fleabag is still likely for Series as it got the important wins that it needed. I think that Brosnahan is more likely to upset JLD than PWB now, though.

-Needless to say, GOT is winning Series, but it could easily be upset in the acting categories which is concerning. All I care about is Headey but it’s looking grim.

They got it so right with Queer Eye, When They See Us and Fleabag, then ****’s it up with a GoT win. Pose deserved.
