whyd you prove your own argument wrong, but then stick to it?

Well all I’m saying is there have been enough repeats to argue that the momentum is there for a Borstein three peat. Gosh you need to seriously chill when you disagree with someone.

FYC OSCARS : VANESSA KIRBY FOR "PIECES OF A WOMAN", GLENN CLOSE FOR "HILLBILLY ELEGY", ANTHONY HOPKINS FOR "THE FATHER", CHADWICK BOSEMAN FOR "MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM", PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN (BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY).

Maisel lost song. They were the frontrunner. Maisel lost costumes. They won the guild/ were the frontrunner. Maisel is not doing as good as they did before, actually.

If they actually bothered to listen to the songs then Euphoria was always going to win. And losing to The Crown in costumes isn’t surprising either.

Just like her father, what a talented family.

For some reason, I didn’t register the family connection until now! I know that I should have.

Very happy for Schitt’s Creek! I know many predicted them winning casting, but I was still nervous because shows I really love rarely win anything, lol.

How did “#FreeRayshawn” miss Short-Form Series with 3 acting nominations and 2 acting wins? That’s not right.

off the top of my head, boston legal and frasier did it.

…So BCS is sorta kinda not an ultimate Emmy loser anymore.
Oh wait, the same thing happened a few years ago? Well, guess BCS is better as short fake training videos than a full show per Emmy voters.

The wins for Rudolph, Fishburne and Cephas Jones are great. A poc sweep is coming on sunday and we love to see it

Afaik, there’s only one possibility for an Asian or Latinx winner and this site has her in last place.

It should be a B&W slate, typical of recent years, with perhaps more of the former than usual.

The actors’ branch is doing a better job at watching the content instead of just checking off the brands.

The way The Crown again lost Casting with a brand new cast but will probably end up winning next year lol. Want to shift to Succession in Directing now.

That Maisel win was lazy, even if not bad. The Music Supervision in Watchmen  and Euphoria was more acclaimed so a Maisel 3-peat was completely unnecessary. There’s no ‘Maisel hate’ in people being upset about it. Anyway, I don’t see Watchmen breaking the all time record, will still end up with double digit wins though.

And lmfao at some thinking The Mandalorian is anywhere near the top two. The Crown could be but so far there’s nothing to suggest it is though. One or two Creative Arts awards won’t make it second.

That Maya Rudolph win gives me life. Taika was the weakest in his category so good on them. Is Big Mouth winning Animated Series now? Poor BoJack.

Was expecting Most Dangerous Game to pull through with how heavily promoted it was and how Better Call Saul was losing support quickly. At least this makes me confident about El Camino beating Bad Education now.

But it doesn’t. We have no idea if Maisel has any momentum with the actors because like you said, there’s no crossover of voters. Music supervisors going with what they know is absolutely no indication that another branch will do the same.

The casting categories make me way more confident in keeping Succession in Directing, but I’m clueless about Schitt’s Creek.

I actually got both short form acting categories right on a whim. Fishbure was an easy prediction, being a respected veteran and a black actor. Then, choosing between Valdez and Cephas Jones was who was more generally popular among audiences. So I put their names on Google Trends and Valdez had no visibility at all.

I don’t see Shameless winning as a bad thing. The people working on the show shouldn’t suffer because of the doings of one of its actors. Wouldn’t know if it’s deserving, though.

If we’re still arguing who’s second for Drama Series, my two cents is: no one. Succession is miles ahead from everyone else.

Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are now just a Tony away from EGOT.

It would look quite desperate if they suddenly went into theatre. They don’t strike me as being able to easily transition to that (or even wanting to), so I doubt they’ll get a Tony win.

    For Your Consideration:

Best International Feature: Instinct (The Netherlands)
Best Actress: Carice van Houten (Instinct)
