I need Phylicia Rashad to win an Emmy, dammit!

Damn. I was hoping that Phylicia Rashad would win this year to make up for losing last year to Cherry Jones.

I still have this in mind from last year.

That Scott shouldn’t have been in that category.

I don’t get the Andrew Scott love. He’s a good enough actor, but I’ve seen his recent work and it’s OK. Not amazing.

They really don’t like Cicely or Phylicia for some reason.

I mean Cicely is at least already an Emmy winner.

    Phylicia on the other hand.

I actually think Phylicia is winning next year if Succession misses…

FYC OSCARS : VANESSA KIRBY FOR "PIECES OF A WOMAN", GLENN CLOSE FOR "HILLBILLY ELEGY", ANTHONY HOPKINS FOR "THE FATHER", CHADWICK BOSEMAN FOR "MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM", PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN (BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY).

So, Watchmen has 7 awards so far, right? If by some miracle Watchmen wins Limited Series, Directing, Writing and all four Acting categories, it will beat John Adams’ record (13 awards).

After tonight, I wonder if Jason Bateman actually won last year.

I’m still sticking to Helena in Supporting Actress, but Snook is very tempting.

Yeah I have Helena second. People laughed at me when I said it was between these two but I really think it is.

As I said before Julia delivered a masterclass in Ozark but I don’t think she’s repeating unless they default back to the previous winners in each category of Comedy and Drama tomorrow (which will be interesting because the incumbent Drama Series and Comedy Writing winners are ineligible lol).

FYC OSCARS : VANESSA KIRBY FOR "PIECES OF A WOMAN", GLENN CLOSE FOR "HILLBILLY ELEGY", ANTHONY HOPKINS FOR "THE FATHER", CHADWICK BOSEMAN FOR "MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM", PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN (BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY).

I can’t seem to get the quote function to work, but I agree with wolfali that Comedy is a mess to predict.

I’ve never been convinced that SC will win directing. I know it has the advantage of only having a single ep nominated, but still. IDK. I’m sticking with Maisel for now.

I’m also nervous about writing. SC seems to be the consensus here, but there is technically the possibility of a vote split. It wouldn’t shock me if The Good Place took it.

Just realized that Ozark won none of its craft nominations… how bad of a sign is that exactly?

    Pretty bad.

Ozark’s only chance at a win now is in the acting categories.
