I’m canceling the Emmys this year for denying Cicely Tyson’s moment because they are in love with Cherry Jones who obviously needed a third career Emmy in 11 years.

What a trash group of voters.

After tonight, I wonder if Jason Bateman actually won last year.

I just laughed out loud like Latrice Royale

Honestly I don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow. They could default back to Maisel or they could go all in on Schitt’s Creek. I don’t think Insecure is winning Series but I can see scenarios where both Orji and Rae win tomorrow along with both Ali and Youssef. They could go for a Succession sweep in acting or we could see the SAG consensus repeat itself and Aniston, Crudup and HBC win. They could go all out for Watchmen in the acting categories or only King wins (I think it’s winning both Writing and Directing for sure now).

FYC OSCARS : VANESSA KIRBY FOR "PIECES OF A WOMAN", GLENN CLOSE FOR "HILLBILLY ELEGY", ANTHONY HOPKINS FOR "THE FATHER", CHADWICK BOSEMAN FOR "MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM", PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN (BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY).

Everyone thought he’d win as makeup for getting completely snubbed last year for his work in Fleabag.

So many people are telling on themselves. If it’s a Black person they didn’t like, it’s POC name-check. But it would’ve been acceptable for Andrew Scott to get a makeup name-check for a prior season’s performance?

Dears, Maisel doing this good in these tech categories just shows how pathetic it is to say Barry was second last year. Maisel was the runner-up last year and it will be again this year. They have support from every single group sans writers (who at this point are just being snobs).

Say it louder for those in the back Dame Mandy Moore!

Although I do think Rae and O’Hara are ahead of Brosnahan this year but to say Applegate is? Please.

Hell, maybe Cicely Tyson was the actual winner in Guest Actress in a Drama in 2015 instead of Margo Martindale

I think I’ll just predict 3 sweeps and leave it there. This is so stressful.

All Schitt’s Creek losing Editing means is that it’s not a strong enough frontrunner to overcome vote splitting in certain categories. Did y’all just conveniently forget Maisel dropped both guest acting awards after winning both last year and is without a writing nomination? Comedy Series is still going to Schitt’s Creek. It’s just going to drop some categories along the way.

Thank God I did not stay up for this. Cicely Tyson losing is disgusting. You award POC in every other category – yay! – but can’t give it to the 95-year-old legend? Yeah, goodbye. Thanks for nothing.

Unrelated, but with the name-check powers she has Cherry Jones is totally winning an Oscar first chance she gets, right?

Euphoria in Makeup is a best win of the night imo.

Having see Cherry Jones in THT and Defending Jacob, I simply do not see the appeal.

The only thing I can guess is that she embodies the aunt a lot of white voters wish they had.

Yep, once she has the performance/movie the triple crown of acting is coming.

about her that much and that doesn’t mean they don’t like the show,

Ok maybe my language should have been politer. Sorry.

It’s just I feel like Applegate and Cardilleni are fifth and sixth (at least this year as I think Applegate is winning for the final season).

But yeah Maisel is so clearly the runner up and could again not be that far away from Series this year (even if it’s not winning because we know with its near acting sweep last year it was close).
