    Poor Giancarlo

I still think he could win that guest nomination could’ve been from extra support.

6 nights of Emmys is overkill. With all of the repeat presenters and repeat segments, they could have knocked this out over the weekend or less.

Can people stop saying Cicely’s loss was obvious? We know. We get it. We were prepared. It’s still disappointing regardless. I don’t get how they denied her in the first place in 2015. But ok, whatever. She’s still a legend.

Lead Actress in a Drama Series is not the one for me.

FYC OSCARS : VANESSA KIRBY FOR "PIECES OF A WOMAN", GLENN CLOSE FOR "HILLBILLY ELEGY", ANTHONY HOPKINS FOR "THE FATHER", CHADWICK BOSEMAN FOR "MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM", PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN (BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY).

Lead Actress in a Drama is the most obvious acting category to take a risk in because of how fluid it feels. Thus, Zendaya it is!

The acting branch did not care about The Mandalorian at all.

I don’t know that it’s such a good idea to base your perception of Cherry Jones’ acting off of her role (that is barely a role as she doesn’t even do much) in THT. Do I wish that they had awarded someone else for once? Yes (Cicely Tyson!! The 95 year old legend!!). But, do I blame Cherry Jones for it or want to criticize her acting all of a sudden? No.

If you want to blame anyone for her always winning, then I think it makes more sense to blame the Television Academy who always vote for her. Seems unfair to blame her for getting name checked by other people.

I’m not so much blaming Jones for her peers’ laziness as I am questioning Jones’ acting in general, which I’ve found to be rather lackluster.

I’m sure she’s a wonderful person. And I have no doubt I’ll find something of hers that I truly enjoy one day.

I really liked Cherry Jones in 24 and was happy with her win in 2009 and she would have been a deserving nominee if she was submitted in 2010 for Supporting Actress in a Drama.

You mean it told us Bradley Whitford (unfortunately) isn’t repeating?

Okay. I don’t have the energy to fight Zendaya fans anyway. But this nom and maybe win will always be funny to me.

No, you don’t have the arguments, you have not watched her performance, you are the first, and thankfully, the only person, that bases his opinions on age, Zendaya gave the second best performance on that category after Linney.

I know it’s well-meaning, but the constant counting and tabulating of Black and POC winners here feels rather perfunctory.

For those who genuinely support having Black and brown creatives get their day in the sun, this isn’t directed at you. But those who count these wins as some sort of performative gesture aren’t really helping the cause as much as they think they are.

Saying this as a Black person who admittedly doesn’t speak for all Black people.
