So, she’s the fourth person lol

Also, I don’t think ANYONE in the writing branch is gonna vote for anything other than the finale, it wouldn’t make sense

Quoting for emphasis. I automatically assume now that a win means that voters were lazy; that she had the goods is merely coincidental.

Which tells you all you need to know. Her tape in 2009 was by far the worst of the bunch. Wiest and Davis had those long ass In Treatment therapy session episodes. Oh and Wilson had 2 episodes being co-stars. ANd Byrne had a big Damages showcase where she went toe to toe vs Close.

We all know what an absolute fraud her win last year was. And she was hardly the best in this years field.

And as the user above suggested she hasn’t exactly translated her stage career into mind blowing film and TV performances.

So she wins under both systems when she’s not the best. Major back patting amongst friends going on in these popular votes.

My predictions were strong on the middle nights of the Creative Arts and weak on the bookends. I do not know what to do with that. Do I know what I am talking about this year or not?

i was going to do this before Saturday night’s ceremony, but now – after he actually won – i’m even more curious what made you predict him over other contenders

It was an easy prediction for me actually. Not that I felt that he was locked, but I did not really buy any of the alternatives, unlike in comedy guest actress for example. I felt like he still had a rooting factor as a fairly recent discovery in the prestige conversation. This is Us is fading, but I think that that people still like it and he finally had co-stars out of the way. Black Mirror on the other hand I felt was too far gone. The Outsider did not hit with the academy and I felt that voters would have to be voting pretty far down the line for The Mandalorian, The Morning Show or Succession to win here. What I underestimated was how lazily voters would approach the guest categories, as I missed Cherry Jones and I see that as the through line between her, Ron Cephas Jones and name-checking Kamala Harris. It does not help us as I was anticipating for the main ceremony, as I doubt that voters are going to throw away their votes there.

There’s an Eddie Murphy acceptance speech, but I didn’t see it on the show. I’m assuming he did it after the fact.

It wasn’t on the show, and, in fact, neither the Emmys.com website (that has the other acceptance speeches) nor the Television Academy’s YouTube page has it yet.

However, it was posted to the Academy’s Twitter feed.

A little delayed, but here are my reactions to the last creative arts ceremony:

I had hoped that there was Big Mouth momentum, but somehow Rick and Morty wins animated program!

I am sorry about Britell losing to Göransson and kudos to the 5 people that predicted Godfather of Harlem to win main title design!

I am glad for Stan Lathan, but really thought that a live show would win directing.

And I can’t believe the Emmys went the reverse way when I chose Succession for guest actor and This Is Us for guest actress. I’m still hopeful that Phylicia Rashad can get that Emmy some day!

You would think that if any show had “momentum,” it would be Bojack Horseman for its final season.
It’s a little hard to believe that Moral Orel and Titan Maximum ended up with more Emmys in their runs than Bojack Horseman did.
