I’ll be happy to know what you think will get in instead.

One if they feel generous. They clearly dislike it, The Long Night will not be nominated.

I have a question: I think that in “Outstanding Period Costumes” there is supposed to be proportional nominations to the number of submissions in each genre (series/limited series or movies) with at least one of each, making a total of 5 nominations, right? If I’m not mistaken, I count 19 series and 20 limited series or movies (please check, don’t trust me! XD) and something called “American Woman” which I can’t find out what it… Is there a way to know if it was submitted as a series or limited series? And if so, what happens if it is a series (20/20)? 6 nomination? I assume that if it is 19/21 we get 2 nominations from series and 3 from limited, right? Can someone please help me? 🙂

I have copy+paste’d the synopsis on the ballot to Google and apparently American Woman is a regular series on Paramount Netowork which was marketed as a comedy but was not actually submitted in the main Comedy Series or any acting categories. Costume designers might be self-submitters.

And since it breaks down to 20-20 I would imagine we would at least get 6 nominees in this category like you said, nice catch! Is this the first year the number of miniseries’ submissions rival to those of drama/comedies in one of these proportionally determined categories?

What happens in a 19-21 category (this year and previous years) is that two of the nominees would come from series, two would come from limited and the fifth slot is just up for grabs.  (So it would probably go to a series.)  What is new this year is that the two-percent rule does not apply to the proportional categories, so there is not an opportunity for a sixth nominee.

    EDITED: See below.

Why is American Woman on a ballot? It premiered after eligibility. Isn’t it for the season 1?

Ha, just saw that it was actually cancelled after season 1 which puts its category placement totally up for graps.

It premiered last summer, so it must be eligible. Though it was a disaster so no wonder the Network is not submitting it anywhere.

If that’s the case for 19-21, I’ll guess the same think happens if it’s 20-20 and I’ll predict 3 series (they seem stronger) and 2 limited series! Thanks everyone! 😉

I confused it with American Princess, which premiered this June.
