Connor Jessup is all I can think of, I don’t think Blackish or it’s leads are emmy worthy but I don’t despise them at all. There’s Friends which I don’t really despise but I kind of hate bec of how overrated it is and how it’s treated as one of the best shows ever. The only cast member I despise is David Schwimmer.May 31, 2017 at 7:59 pm #1202107514
Aden Young didn’t do a damn thing in the last season of Rectify besides the MUH REELZ rape monologue which was supposed to be catharsis but seemed so “Emmys stop ignoring me pls”
I liked him seasons 1-3 tho. I save “despised” for nearly anything Lena Dunham does. Bad.May 31, 2017 at 8:04 pm #1202107519
Uzo Aduba in Orange is the New Black. She was fine/good in season 1 but does the Emmy needs to keep nominating her every damn season when there are so many other members in the show that give scene stealing performances. Crazy Eye needs to die and I hope that season 5 rumor where multiple characters are supposed to be killed off includes this annoying character.May 31, 2017 at 9:05 pm #1202107577
When it comes to acclaimed movie performances as of recently that got all the critics support, first, Cate Blanchett in “Blue Jasmine”. I like her as a performer, except when she tends to overract, and “BJ” might be the pinacle of it. If I say that I found it uneven, I’m being generous. And second, it’s Daniel Day-Lewis in “There Will Be Blood”. I’m very neutral on him as an actor, but in this case in particular I feel like I’m going mad because I have absolutely no one on my side of the movie audience that tends to watch these kind of movies. Not only I don’t think he deserved all those accollades, I also think he’s awful in it. The milkshake scene that many consider his glorious acting moment, only makes me cringe terribly. It’s one of the worst performances I’ve seen in my life and people think it’s amazing. What?
When it comes to recent films that got excesive attention without deserving it, if movies were people, “Boyhood” would be the worst case of white privilege noticeable.
As for TV shows, Friends is a mystery to me, because I don’t think it’s very different from the multi-camera sitcom (note: only 5% funny), so all the attention it received (and keeps receiving) is alien to me.May 31, 2017 at 9:12 pm #1202107581

I will never despise Game of Thrones, but I still can’t understand the amount of acclaim it receives every year.
I used to (almost) despise Justin Theroux in The Leftovers. Now I don’t.June 1, 2017 at 12:36 am #1202107752
