So, with this combine of awards, the TV eligibility for this year only will be June 1 through December 31. So, what are your predictions?
The TV dates:
December 7, 2015 – TV nominating ballots go out to BTJA members
December 11, 2015 – Deadline for returning all nominating ballots
December 14, 2015 – Critics’ Choice Awards nominees announced
January 14, 2016 – Final TV ballots go out to BTJA members
January 15, 2016 – Deadline for returning final ballots
January 17, 2016 – The 21st annual ceremony airs live on A&E, Lifetime and LMN from Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, CaliforniaOctober 18, 2015 at 4:44 pm #363740
I first would need a list of all the shows that will be eligible.

Anyone know if Orange Is The New Black will compete in comedy or drama categories?October 19, 2015 at 3:29 am #363743
This bodes well for Fresh Off the Boat, Mr. Robot, and UnReal — Three excellent series that I’m just not sure will be embraced by Globe voters or Emmy voters (and certainly not SAG).October 19, 2015 at 5:18 am #363744
I’d love for Hugh Dancy to get in for Lead Actor for Hannibal, but I don’t think it’s happening even in a less competitive race like this. Cancellation might hurt Hannibal’s chances too. Anyway, Empire will sweep. Crossing fingers for Sense8 too.October 19, 2015 at 7:37 am #363745
Continuum has contenders in all categories; Drama, Actor (Victor Webster, Erik Knudsen), Actress (Rachel Nichols), Supporting Actor (Stephen Lobo), Supporting Actress (Luvia Petersen) and Guest Performer (Ryan Robbins). No stupid country restrictions here, fortunately, like there are at the Emmys and Globes.October 19, 2015 at 8:27 am #363746
Will they please embrace my girl Niecey Nash? Also Billie Lourd’s role should expand a bit so she can get some traction as well.October 19, 2015 at 8:31 am #363747
My thoughts: In comedy, I think that The Middle, The Big Bang Theory and Fresh Off The Boat are doing solid seasons until now and could get some nods. Modern Family’s season is really meh, but with the low competition can do something. Mom and Transparent are big contenders that don’t premiere new season yet.October 19, 2015 at 9:13 am #363748
If they actually watch quality TV shows then Humans is gonna get into Drama Series and Gemma Chan is gonna win Supporting Actress by a landslide. There’s no better dramatic performance than hers this season. Also I want Constance Wu and not Gina Rodriguez to win Leading Comedy Actress. Yes, it’s time for Asian actors to get their due. Especially now that they give outstanding and lauded performances on TV. As for Hannibal, the show and Hugh and Mads deserve their Leading Actor nominations. As for Leading Drama Actress I want Shiri Appleby to get nominated so badly and she deserves to win it more than Taraji or Viola but we all know that after her Emmy win Viola is gonna take it. Oh, and is Constance Zimmer campaigned leading or supporting? There would be no category fraud here because she can go either way with the way her role is written. She deserves a nomination too. Also Rami Malek deserves his nomination for Mr Robot too. And there are also Sens8 guys and gals who deserve some recognition. Honestly I quite like that those joke-star-fuckers decided to do this way because there’s a chance they’re gonna recognize some niche shows and performances.October 19, 2015 at 10:00 am #363749
^ Viola couldn’t beat Taraji at the Critics Choice Awards this year, I don’t think she’ll win next year. The award is Taraji’s to lose. In fact, I’ll be surprised if Viola gets nominated again. Zimmer has a shot at winning Supporting Actress. Lead is too competitive even for the short eligibility period. The argument for Wu winning isn’t valid, she should win for her performance not because she’s asian. Kristen Schaal deserves to win for Last Man On Earth, but I wouldn’t be mad if Rodriguez or Wu or Tracee Ellis Ross won. Malek is definitely getting nominated (will probably lose to Terrence Howard or Clive Owen). Aml Ameen & Miguel Angel Silvestre are more likely to get nominated too for Sense8.October 19, 2015 at 10:16 am #363750
^ Imo Constance Wu is giving the best comedic performance on TV at this moment and that’s the only reason why she should win. Comment about her being Asian is me making fun of those who claimed that Viola or Taraji had to win because they would have become the first black actresses to win that particular category.
This is how my TOP5 for Best Leading Comedy Actress (2015/2016) looks:
Tracee Ellis Ross
Roselyn SanchezOctober 19, 2015 at 11:21 am #363751
With critics all over Viola’s performances this 2nd season already, it’s pretty doubtful she’ll be snubbed by this group. My hunch is the reason Taraji beat her was that group wanted to give her a big boost for the emmy. But id say the odds of her claiming that award twice in the same year no less, is pretty unlikely. Especially since that was the only award they gave the show despite several other nominations. Even if its not Viola who wins, which I beleive she’s a top contender, I doubt itll be Ms. Henson. In their 6 years, Maslany is the only woman to win twice, and ill just stop right there. LolOctober 19, 2015 at 11:47 am #363752
No one really cares but for Animated Series, it will be between BoJack Horseman and Rick and Morty, since Archer is out of the picture!

Hm. I don’t see critics being “all over Viola’s performance”. In fact I haven’t even seen any reviews for the second season of HTGAWM. The show is pretty awful. If they wanted to give someone a big emmy boost they could have awarded Viola, since voters clearly don’t watch/like her show as opposed to the ratings monster, Empire. Empire didn’t have “several other nominations” – just Drama Series & Drama Actress. I don’t regard “Most Bingeworthy Show” as an actual category since it’s a public vote lol. Henson might repeat or they might award a newcomer I.e. Shiri Appelby, Jamie Clayton etc.
