Is it June yet? That clip was HOT!April 18, 2013 at 7:56 pm #273385
Ok, I don’t even watch Dexter, and the only exposure I’ve had to it is watching the last ten or so minutes before a new episode of Homeland comes on, but I LOVED that clip. I love Jennifer Carpenter, Deb Morgan, and her spectacular vocabulary. What a talent.April 18, 2013 at 8:58 pm #273386
Great acting from her and C. Hall expected on that final season…. good writing? not so muchApril 18, 2013 at 11:58 pm #273387
Dexter season four was the best. so ever since then, it has been getting worse.
I will miss the show when it’s gone but I am glad they get to end it.Riley (the normal one, not the one who won the predictions contest)ParticipantApril 19, 2013 at 11:24 am #273388
We knew that Dexter’s nanny would be added to the main cast already, but we now know from the press release that Captain Tom Matthews has been upgraded as well, probably to continue LaGuerta’s investigation.Riley (the normal one, not the one who won the predictions contest)ParticipantApril 26, 2013 at 3:19 pm #273389
Showtime has opted to mail the season’s first two episodes “Are You…” and “Sunshine and Frosty Swirl” as part of their For Your Consideration package to voters, meaning that these two episodes will likely be pushed more heavily than others from the season for writing and directing nominations and inclusion in hypothetical series tapes. There were probably better episodes than “Sunshine and Frosty Swirl” this season, but it nicely complements the season premiere, making for a compelling arc that requires mininal context. I hope that this also indicates the direction that Michael C. Hall takes with his submission, unlike two years ago when he inexplicably submitted midseason FYC entry “Teenage Wasteland” over potentially winning season premiere “My Bad”.May 3, 2013 at 7:48 pm #273390

This season does not look as promising as last year, but it could just be the editing of the trailer.June 26, 2013 at 7:28 pm #273393
Premiere is coming up on Sunday, people!

Lengthy clip of Debra’s antics from same episode: http://insidetv.ew.com/2013/06/26/dexter-debra-sex-drugs/June 26, 2013 at 7:34 pm #273394
I can’t wait to see how they handle Debra this season. I mean if I saw my brother kill a cop I would not react well, if he killed anyone I would react badly. I hope they do not make her downfall predictable and while the show seems like it will end with everyone finding out about Dexter I could also seem them making the bad choice of not letting the gang find out he is a killer. Charlotte Rampling is such an underrated actress and was great recently in The Eye of the Storm (best thing about the film) and Restless for which she deserves an emmy nomination. Also Yvonne Strahovski was great last season worthy of an emmy nomination and her coming back is nice to see if they will give her a big role or just wrap up her story at the start.Riley (the normal one, not the one who won the predictions contest)ParticipantJune 29, 2013 at 5:14 pm #273395
The third episode is apparently a great one for Jennifer Carpenter.June 30, 2013 at 12:48 pm #273396
So excited for tonight.June 30, 2013 at 2:01 pm #273397
The premire is online with no cursing and nudity having big blocks over it. I liked the addition of Charlotte and hope this is a good role for her because she is such an underrated actress. Carpenter was great and I cannot wait to see her arc. I’m wondering how it will all end but I will say that the weakness to the show remains the supporting characters who never interest me except for some who had great stuff earlier in the show. I would say this is a good start and I’m excited for the many scenes Rampling and Hall seem like they are going to share together.
